I would prefer to retain mine of course but I do think 6k is a lot of money perhaps the company could cut down on the absurd amount of managers they hire and meet in the middle. In the end with a gun to.my head we get A As plan

So your opinion is that you do take the hit with the LAA costs then. I don’t want to make a judgement call on it myself because I really do think we should have an improvement over the 21% and the only reason we are paying that much now is because a Bankruptcy Judge held a gun to OUR heads to take the hit.

And no way do you lose Catering IMO either.

Curious Al? You’ve read all the arguments about your Medical and that it’s actually just a percentage that you pay as opposed to me, and read all the LAA folks who say it’s a goner even though I doubt they’d publicly say the same thing if it was THEIR Medical cost about to skyrocket, what do you think on it now?
Could they do something as easy as lowering the maximum out of pocket cost for each plan? Think of something fair

For years we fleet didnt get profit sharing and everyone else in the company did dual benefitism so be it

Don’t see how exactly the Math can be worked out? The 401k Match would be different depending on where you are at on the payscale, whereas your Pension is a fixed cost.

But we’ve certainly covered this topic quite a bit too.

Opening up a can of worms a new hire gets the same per hour contribution as a person at top scale

The Company could give us completely FREE Medical if they wanted. They’re the ones who write the checks.

Weez -- You nailed it! Not only would payscale be a factor, but so would participation. This is why the anti-union trolls here are advocating for the 401k in lieu of the DBP. They KNOW the 401k costs the Company much less, and Fleet has to pay full value at the table!

P.S. Thanks for the "funny" Tim...

Trump said medical IS now FREE. He said that he killed Obama Care, and has fixed the entire healthcare industry. The Company should have no problem implementing the very best cadillac plans the industry has to offer. This should not even be on the table, it's a cost ZERO item!

For Years the IAM was only group with a defined retirement we were ok with the other groups 401

Al just speaking for myself if the solution to any possible problem was you continuing to receive a benefit that I wasn’t getting and it moved the ball forward, I honestly could give a rats ass. More power to you and enjoy.

But you and I both know that’s probably highly unlikely to happen anyway.

I still think the 2 options would be in the same ball park money wise

Easy solution actually on the IAMPF. You keep it and the Company keeps contributing into it for you. All new hires doesn’t matter who they’re represented by get a 401k Match only.

The Company could even make it like UAL has it and you get both. Your Match would just be lower than what I get to even out the contributions.

Anyone that can’t see the value of “free money” (401k contribution/match) probably shouldn’t be around live aircraft.
There is a lot of those .Remember how invincible you were at 18 plus people on the bottom might haven trouble saving anything

Dude... anyone that can't understand that NOTHING is "free" in the business world, should not be around DL live aircraft.

You of all people should realize nothing is free. And what you have today can easily be gone tomorrow. Bye Bye Birdie.
