I wonder why it took TWO Teamsters around 5 years to hammer out a contract at UA/CO.I do accept it. There is nothing I can do about it.All I know when we were Teamsters, it did not take over 6 years to get a contract. We all moved up. Well AMFA had a Teamsters contract , and did extensions and LOAs. The problem is when everyone went bankrupt, we did not , so we had more perks because SWA made money. So when you have mechanics making over $100,000 a year it takes longer to move higher. So here we are.
Whatever happened to strength in numbers?
Two heads better than one?
I guess when the Teamsters take a long time negotiating, it is because the company refuses to budge.
But when AMFA takes a long time, it is squarely the fault of the union.
