Hiya folks!!

Anybody got the employee discount code for American Airlines' employees to use on T-Mobile?

Check out Jetnet... there should be a link and or phone number for their corporate accounts.

I have T-Mobile . . . Gawd it SUCKS!

I don't recommend it to anyone. Reception in airports is spotty at best and I have never had so many dropped calls with any other plan.

Thankfully, I only have a few months to go on the contract then they can shove it!

Based on my experience, I'd recommend AT&T or Sprint. Down here in Texas they seem to have things extremely well covered and Sprint's Everything for $99.00 (unlimited talk, text, net, chat, video etc) is a steal.

T-mobile uses the unused portions of the other phone outfits networks. So, when you make a call with T-mobile and all of sudden A,T,+T or Sprint needs all of their "airspace" back, you get dropped offline. T-mobile is junk!

ok...

Sprint is CDMA, a whole diff network.

I switched over to AT&T & GSM service four years ago and couldn't be happier. Sprint's service tended to be only along the interstates in rural areas, or it was roaming on someone else's network. You may or may not have data & text services on someone else's network, and it may or may not be free...

AT&T's network is just about everywhere, including backroads.

Anybody got Verizon below the "Mason/Dixon",..............and if so, hows their performance ?

Google "informed" me that the 7 largest cell phone company's are...(by subscribers)...(in Millions)

1. Cingular..................50.0
2. Verizon...................44.0
3. Sprint.....................22.2
4. T-Mobile.................17.3
5. Nextel....................15.3
6. Alltel......................8.0
7. US Cellular..............4.8

I dissagree. T-Mobile uses different technology. GSM is what they use. AT&T also uses GSM. GSM has been around a long time. The technology is better than what Sprint or Verizon use except that in the US the GSM network is not up to its max capability. Too bad.

UPDATE:
Just read that Verizon will be switching over to GSM in the near future. Smart move.
Sprints iDEN and CDMA network has been a nightmare since Sprint bought NexTel.
Go GSM, it's your best bet. Soon all carriers will be GSM. It's proven to be the better technology.

AT&T= GSM
T-Mobile= GSM
Verizon= GSM Coming Soon
Sprint= Old troubling Technology. Soon to be phased out.

Had At&T in NY it suxed I switched over to Verizon. That was about ten years ago. I have since moved to Fla.
Verizon service was great in NY and is great south of the Mason/Dixon. i was going to switch to Sprint but have no reason to.

Care to identify your source? Such a switch will be a logistical nightmare, as Verizon will have to maintain two incompatible networks during the transition period.

Quote from article:
Hybrid phones that can access both the GSM and CDMA networks would be one way to go, but in the end, with AT&T (NYSE: T) and Verizon (NYSE: VZ) both switching to GSM-based LTE in the coming years, CDMA seems to be a dead end
