American Airlines: Time for labor deals dwindling

Looks like the company never planned on anything coming to a vote. They were planning on having the judge approve their proposals all along. (Understatement of the year)
They want a vote to make it consensual. Short of that I don't think they want abrogation so a temporary wage reduction would take the heat off of their urgent need for cash savings and give them more time to line up outsourcing. That may be the TWU's goal as it would make them appear to be "tough negotiators" while fulfilling their desire to trade jobs for pay reductions.

As for the TWU, it is going to take some time after an agreement is reached to get the AMT's from the support shops to the aircraft. My guess is there are many in the back shops who would rather not be forced to the aircraft and will make different selection.

With "virtual" bumping what will be the choices? The street? It seems that takes the AMT's choice away if I undersatand it correctly.

A lifetime choice on a click of the mouse. Is that the new definition of a mousetrap.

A 757 Line is going to be shutdown and the mechanics are going to be moved to hangar 1/2 . No real timeline, however any lack of staffing the new line will be taken from hangar 3/4 as the MD80's are phased out. The search for needed mechanics will be 737 fleet qualified first.

A term that I am unfamiliar with, SP07 maintenance check was instituted some years ago whereby the base maintenance visits were move to the line stations, are going to be brought back to the base maintenance under The MSG3 program. Less Heavy "C" checks and more frequent phased Light "C" checks.

The vision seems to be a 10 year heavy and then a possible return to the lessor. The 737 group had to bid to the airline for the work and was granted the 737 recovery plan including the heavy checks.

silly Buck....

mousetrap |ˈmousˌtrap|
noun
a trap for catching and usually killing mice, esp. one with a spring bar that snaps down onto the mouse when it touches a piece of cheese or other bait attached to the mechanism.

You can't change the english language.....try adding it to the "urban dictionary"

mouse trap 58 up, 25 down
When a guy is getting head, he says somthing like "Oh S*** what's that?" and points, when the giver turns to look, they tuck the penis between there legs. When the giver returns to finish the job, you spread your legs, having the penis hit the giver in the bottom of the jaw.
