Ancient Fa Spotted In Clt

Why would anyone respond to this type of topic????

And Geezus, why would any give a damn how old a f/a is or senior???

Unless your junior waiting for a spot!

What a disqusting bunch. And I don't find any amuse from this.

I will never forget flying with her, I was so nervous working the 757 galley while she was the lead. At one point she was down on her knees with her head stuck in a cart and I said to her, " Carol what are you looking for?: She replied by saying ( take a minute to picture the scene) "I'm looking for the glamour!!!!

The number one on the list is one of the (if not THE) friendliest F/A's I have met. She is the only one who I have seen walking the aisles offering pillows and blankets to the passengers. Excellent job, ....VERY sweet lady.

Could we please change the subject line of this topic to something else.
Seems to me that it's insulting, in light of the fact that this flight attendant happens to be a very nice and good flight attendant.

I've flown with her countless times and she happens to be an incredibly sweet lady....so let's leave her alone, shall we? Yes, her glasses and her ever-present pitcher of iced tea make her a bit eccentric, but so what? It's her style. She's fun and funny and has some wonderful stories to share, considering she's been doing this job for longer than I've been alive. She was a flight attendant in the days when people still took pride in the job and before the career was ruined. Whenever I flew with her, I always felt like I was getting a glimpse into that lost era. While she may have a few years on her, she can still serve circles around most F/As half her age and manages to do it with a smile....which is more than I can say for most.

She's retiring this year and...trust me....US Airways is losing one of its best!!

One of my dreams is to write a book about US Airways flight attendants, and among others, this is one I would love to sit down and talk to. I can't tell you how many transcon and red-eye flights I did where I wish I had a pen and paper for the wonderful stories flight attendants would share. Funny, sad, heroic, weird... they have a thousand interesting stories to tell that offer insight not only for flying but for life in general.

I love that lady's wacky glasses... they harm no one and are still professional. However, if she didn't wear them, she wouldn't be as memorable and have as many nice things said about her here. Good for her!

Now you realize?

I don't know how many subscribe to AOPA's Pilot Magazine but here's an interesting mention in the August issue found in the Pilot Briefing section (page 64) titled FAA Rule Petitions Range from Unusual to Frivolous.

Specifically the following: "The FAA gets many requests from the public for new rules or changes to current ones. Even legitimate requests are seldom grants. Sometimes the requests are unusual. One, apparently from a college student either fulfilling a class requirement to file a petition for a new rule or just playing a prank at taxpayer expense, asks that all flight attendants be female, 32 years of age or younger, and be a size 5 in the waist. His request was denied, but not until his joke had wasted considerable administrative time and cost at the FAA."

Are we finding Waldo???

Why are you people devoting an entire topic to this? You people must be getting bored. She is very very nice though.

I don't think the concern is the old "sexy stewardess" thing- I think people are more concerned about them doing thier job. I'm fine with them being up in the years as long as they can throw a window exit out, fit through it, climb into a raft, push the heavy doors open, do CPR and all of the other things flight attendants may need to do.

I'm probably a lot off topic, but I am really getting discouraged at how many really really good flight attendants and ticket agents have left or are leaving in the very near future. And, these same people who are leaving still continue to provide the BEST customer service in the airline industry. Thank you and good luck--we will miss you.
