A/C 942 is scheduled for conversion this May for use during the 2008 summer season. A/C 941, 940, and 939 are confirmed and planned for modification starting the fall of 2008 for completion prior to the summer season of 2009. The decision regarding the other four A/C (935 thru 938 ?) are still to be determined.

Any word on the galley modifications for the existing ETOPS 757's? We're getting closer and closer to the start up of the seasonal flying and nobody is saying a word! Not to be negative, but I'll bet you they aren't going to get done in time, especially if they are adding more 757's to the mix. They are a total nightmare for crews to work!

The aircraft the are fitting this May, I assume this is for the CLT-LGW route?

The whole fleet should be retrofitted, the price of fuel isn't gonna drop. Nevertheless, it's great news!!

I too agree that it's a great idea with fuel prices soo high.....I just wish these birds were going TransCon instead of TransAtlantic.

Well, Tempe decided no chillers on the 757. So the high cost of cheap strikes again. Until someone gets sick from the food sitting around long after the dry ice has melted, nothing will change. Another promise not delivered upon.

beachboy. i expressed concern about no chillers on the 757. managemnts reply was that neither continental, american or northwest have chillers on their 757's to europe and no one has gotten sick. but , i said why can't we be the first then? answer: cost ,cost, cost.

Am I the only one humming Aretha Franklin's Rescue Me these days ? 🙄 Etops- save your breath and the bandwith of the internet asking them anything.

i am just giving you a reason as to why no chillers. you should'nt be surprised.

2 words: Fly domestic.

No expectations.

Remember when we had meals domestic on the Genie Trays (aka Dog Dishes)? Even then we could not serve them past a few hour of departure because of the food spoiling. You are right AreDeeYou22.... no expectations on domestic. Even USAir had it standards. Tempe will just gamble giving someone food poisoning.

Galley mods on the existing ETOPS B757's are currently ongoing.

Unable to retrofit the entire B757 fleet to ETOPS, because it is not possible structurally.
