Another Northwest "normal" Event

Hello again Princess. How has the world been treatng you lately?

Yes I would say that that was a normal mechanical failure. I don't know of any check on a T.A. or O.N. package that require the inspection of the yaw dampner.

The part broke the part was replaced the aircraft was placed back in service. Isn't that what we are here for? If aircraft didn't break why would airlines need mechanics? Parts and systems are expected to fail, that is why we have inspectons and redundant systems.

Ever heard the term PREVENTIVE MAINTENCE ?

what do you expect from someone who says an airplane is an airplane, and that the hydraulic systems are no different than working on a fork lift or a john deere

If AA or Southwest had this many emergency landings, why do I get the feeling that congressional hearings would be already underway?

If they cannot use the MM, do you believe that they know what a maintenance program is?

These SCABS are working off of napkin write ups.

Emil just remember there is no difference between the wright flyer and the space shuttle, aircraft are all the same its as easy as working on a forklift

Sad but true Brother!!!

These 'home garage' mechanics do not understand the difference!!!

A screw is a screw (regardless of its engineering designed purpose and metallurgic properties).

Good Luck to the flying public depending on the SCAB team!!!

Local 12 proud.... I think you need to explain what the wright flyer is to the scabs so they dont get it confused with a radio flyer which they are more qualified to work on.

the whole sad part of this whole thing is is that this airline is a disaster waiting to happen. whenin the hell is the faa going to look at nwa and say alright we're grounding you until further notice? i hate to see a plane load of pax go down and the investigation turns out to be a scab maintained plane failed

robbedagain thats why the FAA is called the "TOMBSTONE" agency, they will only step in when theres a smokin hole in the ground and body parts spread over several acres 🙁

Flt 1570, 10/10/03, which blew main gear tires on rotation and had to return to DTW after the pilot declared an emergency was maintained by whom?

Since the series of blowouts NWA experienced at about that time was traced back to assembly errors by one of the vendors NWA was trying out to see if they could handle NWA's wheel and brake maintenance, and since AMFA mechanics had been trying for weeks to bring such flaws to NWA's attention and were ignored, you might want to pick another example.

The 'vendor' was just displaying their artistic license in creating a piece part that looks good but is not functional.

PTO

Did you sell your services here as well?
