Nationally, suicides are the largest source of gun deaths. It's somewhere around 60% if not higher. At a city level, it's estimated at 70-80% in places like BWI, MSY, and CHI.
Maybe domestic violence is a large number *after* you take out suicides and drug/crime related, but after those two classifications come out, you're only left with about 10-20% of the total.

There's a good reason you don't see shootings in a sporting goods store, a gun show, or a tractor pull -- high likelihood that someone's got a CCW permit.
