While browsing ATA's website I was surprised to note that JFK is listed as one of the flight deck crew bases. I was wondering, if it is still open, and if so, what's the rationale behind it, given that ATA does not have any scheduled flights out of JFK (and not much charter business either, it seems like).
If it is still open, are there any plans to close it, or is its continuing existance possibly an indication that ATA may return to JFK in the foreseeable future and maybe use it as its gateway (or one of its gateways) for the planned transatlantic flights.
