Further explaining to Rummy and Wolfie, that upon deeper examination, they could take comfort in the FACT that "W" is DUMB enough to "Go along" with Cheneys Ideas if (HE) Cheney, lets EL-CHIMPO.."T H I N K" that those are HIS Ideas..........................And even further comforting Wolfie + Rummy, that Powell and Condi are Definitely NO Problem....because Both are Uncle TOMS,.............with the only difference between the two, that Powell hasn't figured in out YET"

Nearly every prominent Democrat in the country has repeated some version of this charge, and the notion that the Bush administration deceived the American people has become the accepted narrative of how we went to war.

Yet in spite of all the accusations of White House “manipulationâ€￾ — that it pressured intelligence analysts into connecting Hussein and Al Qaeda and concocted evidence about weapons of mass destruction — administration critics continually demonstrate an inability to distinguish making claims based on flawed intelligence from knowingly propagating falsehoods.

Personally I am glad they did not lift the ban on drilling. One more excuse for people to hold on to their gas guzzlers. I believe I read or hear that since May of last year, the US has driven 9 billion fewer miles. I have not verified the info to my satisfaction but if true, that is reason enough to not drill.

I would love to see Congress exempt diesel for trucks from all tax and put subsidy in place to help out but there is no need in my opinion to drill. We have the technology to replace fossil fuel. We just need the motivation to kick Congress and the oil companies in the nads to get it done. Low fuel prices will only delay the inevitable. Had we done this in the 70's we would not be in the trouble we are in now. Short sighted folks such as your self are part of the problem as far as I am concerned.

Not sure what the MLB has to do with the price of tea in China but that is a huge waste of tax payer money. If the MLB wants to play doped up that is their prerogative. Which goes to prove my point, I would prefer to have Congress to do as little as possible because then they have les of an opportunity to screw my life up.

Southwind, actually, unless our demand decreases along with an increase in supply, we won't see the effects of drilling for longer than 10 years. And there is not a single guarantee that in our free market society, the oil companies would keep all the oil drilled in the US IN the US. We only drill 8 million barrels per day, we use over 20 million barrels per day, yet of what we drill, we EXPORT a million barrels per day.

Oil companies chase profits, not patriotism (did any gas stations in your area LOWER the price of gas over July 4???). It they start drilling 16 million barrels per day - how much should the be allowed to export?

Electric cars could be rolling off the line in a year or two. The Tesla is proof the the technology is here. As for consumers buying/using them. It's all a matter of what is cheapest to do. If gas is cheap and there are no inentives to buy the electric car then yes it will fail and that is exactly what the oil companies would be fighting tooth and nail for. How ever if as I posted gas is taxed (pump price is at $8 or $9 a gallon) and subsidies are given on the car and charging system then people will buy/drive the car in droves.

We have been enriching our enemies for over 30 years and NOW you are worried about it? That horse is long gone and the barn door is already way to rotted out to close. China and India are the new oil whores. Our enemies will be getting pleanty of money whether we pay for the oil or not.

One other thing. Look how the people kowtowed to W when he called them traitors if they did not support the war in Iraq. If he were to stand up and tell people that if they do not start buying this inexpensive electric car, they are traitors who are aiding and abetting the enemy I am thinking people would step right in line. We know he won't do that because the oil companies would nt make any money off of us then. Can't have that now can we.
