America West traffic shows June increases

America West Airlines Friday reported record totals for passenger traffic, capacity and load factor for the month of Junes.
According to a statement from Tempe-based America West (NYSE: AWA - News), revenue passenger miles were a record 2.2 billion in June, an increase of 4.1 percent over June 2004.
A revenue passenger mile is one paying passenger flown one mile. Capacity was a company record 2.6 billion available seat miles, up 0.2 percent from June 2004.
The load factor for the month was a record at 83.6 percent, up from 80.5 percent for June 2004.
The airline will report to the Department of Transportation that its on-time performance was 80.8 percent and its completion factor was 99 percent.
America West, which is currently waiting for regulatory and judicial approvals to undergo a merger with US Airways Inc. (OTCBB: UAIRQ.OB - News), serves 94 destinations daily in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Costa Rica
