AWA New-hire positions?

Saw on another board the pilot bid closed and resulted in 8 FO positions being created. 4 in PHX and 4 in LAS. Of course if this is true, those positions must be filled with East furloughees. Anyone have any info??

Yes, they will be East furloughees. They will be hired onto the bottom of the AWA seniority list and after the final integration they'll have the option to transfer back East with their combined seniority number.

One can only wonder how many fewer furloughs there would have been had ALPA maintained some semblance of scope protection for mainline. Imagine how many fewer furloughees there would have been had ALPA, rather than rolling over, used every labor action tool in its tool box to fight the MDA outsourcing.

The fact there are highly qualified furlougees on the street while 200 hour wonders fill the right seat of CRJ900s is an abomination.
