You may be right, but your allegations are a bit unsubstantiated, no?

Perhaps you could tell us how many NW employees lost their jobs over the past 15+ years due to the ATI granted to NW and KLM - that would at least be some evidence of impending job losses.

Since you don't work for AA (as you have claimed numerous times), why would jop losses at AA due to ATI disturb you so?

There were NWA employees who found themselves working for KLM or Cygnific when their call center and CTO jobs were consolidated under the dominant employer in their home country. But they still were employed, and carried over their seniority, just like when Eastern's employees were absorbed by AA in 1989 and TWA's employees in LHR were absorbed into AA in 1991.

So, the fear, uncertainty, and doubt being spread over this is nothing more than that right now.
 
This is AA we're talking about here. Not exactly the bastion of honesty and trust when it comes to how they deal with their labor force. No?

Just because NW didn't hose their groups doesn't mean a thing. If there is something to be done here for the first time, AA wants to be known as the one that did it!

7.1 million in fines instills no public confidence, and just goes to show how much crap these executives have pulled in the background that nobody knew about. How much more is out there?

Immunity? It's the last thing I'd give the likes of AA or BA for that matter.

AA isn't even being slick enough to jazz up their "mumbo jumbo" as you put it, they just give the same answer to different questions over and over.

Just because they say they aren't planning to do something now, doesn't mean they don't have it sourced for the near future. Was Mercer brought on board that far in advance as mere window dressing?

That is just too scary, you should find another job so when this happens you prepared your self. No sense getting upset when management has an orgasm over terminating you. Do not give them that joy. Leave now.

Anyhow, check my postings on such topics - I'm usually not too far off base. The AA executive is just too easy to predict. If there is a way to screw labor, AA is looking for it.

That is what I said, don't let them get their jollies by screwing you with out your consent. Go somwhere else where the mgt might view workers a bit more charitablly. Leave now before you get hurt. Save yourself.
 
Let me get this right... UA and NW, both of whom had immunity at the time they went thru bankruptcy court, DID NOTHING with regard to shipping work to their EU partners. If UA and NW really wanted to, they could have legally gutted their contracts and given the work away with the court's blessing.

But they didn't. And I won't guarantee that AA won't start that trend, but I seriously doubt it, especially if AMR wants to ever consider getting the foreign ownership caps lifted so they can get some money from BA.

I guess I should think about getting some stock in Reynolds Aluminum...

The topic that started this was one poster's concerns about management enjoying getting rid of people. My reply was targeted at that person only.

You then jump in and make it personal towards me and my wife. I have repeatedly asked you to keep my wife and her affairs out of the conversation. You refuser. You and I got into this before. Yet you persist in making the issue a very personal one always directed at me and my family in a hateful way. Frankly, that is deliberate harassment.

Further, I was replying to someone else when you hijacked my replies in a highly distorted way. Do us a favor and shut up when the conversation is not directed at you and is specifically targeted at someone else. You bring nothing to the board other than repeated feeble attempts at flame bating which you always make personal the content of which lacks any intelligence. Mr. Moderator please check my posts that surround IORFAs reply and assist in stopping the repeated flame bating. You warned him/her before but s/he is unable to comply with your request.

Nobody included you. It is worthless to PM him because s/he just uses anything to flame bait. I'm sorry but his repetitive hostile attacks towards my family are flat harassment. He has been called on this before but insists on keeping doing it. His involving my family are not the purpose of a message board.

It's a one way street with L1011. He would rather you ignore what he says, because when he talks about his wife and family, you are to only listen and never repeat what he says. If he never talked about his wife, we would never know about her. Apparantly, L1011 can only be replied to if HE gives you permission. I just found it ironic that he flip flops so much on here that it is way too funny. When his family is supposedly faced with adversity, he gives totally different advice than if it would be your family or mine. L1011 doesn't see it. I guess someone might call that arrogance.

Take a deep breath and calm down. You get way too worked up over nothing. I am officially done commenting on your constant complaining. Back on topic. AA/BA/IB shouldn't have to give up ANY slots to make this thing go through. Look how fast everyone that wanted them got slots. There isn't any problem, it just costs money. The best part about this whole agreement will be listening to Branson complain about it all over the world. I wonder if the NO WAY BA/AA titles on the planes are on their way back. Maybe with a little update. NO WAY BA/AA/IB!!!

Bottom line - Branson is a whiney-butt. He seems to be rather afraid of the very competition he craved for so long.

If the competition isn't up to snuff they'll soon be going away - don't fret, Sir Richard.
