Or what is it that you think makes AA so immune to the forces affecting the industry? Something in the water in DFW? Divine (or Bush) intervention? Or do you think that AA management is just inherently more gifted than the management at other airlines?

...uaaaaaa...actually, yes........

So are these bets that AA doesn't file contingent on the Wright Amendment not being repealed?

Typical "Fly" bitterness. What an unhappy person you really must be. And, judging by the frequency of your posts, a pretty empty life must be the cause of it!

What does The Wright A. have to do with AA filing?

whindler,

YOU are ABSOLUTELY .....100% correct !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AND,

AA has faced tougher challenges than the "supposed" elimination of the Wright Ammendment.

I marvel at a lot of folks on these boards who think the W-A is a "done Deal"

It's 50/50 AT BEST

Either way,

AA does NOT go BK !!!!!!!

If it gets repealed, AA will see revenue dilution to some degree. Some folks think it will be significant, others think it will be minor. I have no idea, but it will have a negative effect on the company.

According to some people in management AA big wigs already believe the WA WILL be repealed. There is some sort of contingency plan involving us at Love. I can't imagine how we can compete with some of those Greyhound fares that SW charges though. Guess time will tell.

AA WILL NEVER GO INTO BANKRUPTCY! They have the TWU which will give AA anything AA wants. AA's secret weapon is a maintenance base called TULSA. TULSA will vote YES again and again to concessions. Even DFW(fleet service that is ),AFW is filled with YES voters that will give and give till there is nothing left.

None of that matters. Management will demand huge concessions to stay out of bankruptcy, possibly several rounds of huge concessions. And then when the unions you cite cave in, they will declare BK anyway just to extract more.

Believe me.

I've been there.
