Bankruptcy

With the way this management thinks and the environment we're in maybe WE are the over capacity. 🙄 All airlines are struggling but this outfit is a JOKE and their one trick pony way of managing is showing. Failed takeovers and mergers have left them grabbing at straws. What to do....we must run the airline....wha wha whaaaaaaat?

Employee morale or the lack thereof at US is the most important issue facing US. Many of the cost/productivity issues could be easily improved if Management demonstrated trust and credibility to Labor.

what your saying

"the company needs to settle with labor and give them what they want "

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Reality ---- oil is at 142 a barrel , the company isn’t going to give you anything , if there’s a scrap on the table , take it , sign your contract and go home happy you still have a job

THE END .

Have you ever heard of reading between the lines ?

That’s EXACTLY what he was saying ……

You see bob wants to continue to help labor get their contracts hammered out … he wants to help the poor FA’s …

But sorry to say , the ship has set sail , with oil at 140 something a barrel , forget about it … show’s over , the fat lady’s sung , you’re the only one left in the bleachers .

nice to see you have such support for your co workers but then your history speaks for itself

The tentative agreement includes a pay raise of 5 percent for Delta pilots in 2009, and annual increases of 4 percent for Delta pilots through 2012. Northwest pilots, who now are paid less than Delta pilots, would receive larger increases to bring their pay up to Delta's levels. The Northwest union has not released details on how the pact affects its members.
The END, I don't think so the company will pay up especially at 142 and higher, it's in their best interest. I think you know better.

My history DOES speak for itself … if those of us on the west hadn’t pushed as hard as we did , we’d have NOTHING today , we’d be just like the FA’s !!!

Take a look around you Garfield … just IMGINE if we hadn’t signed that new contract …. It’s not even December and the legs are starting to give out on the US economy , and you actually think we’d have been able to bargain for MORE than what we were able to secure in this contract ? stop snorting the YAY ..

I’m simply reminding the FA’S on the facts of life , with oil at 140 something ,this is a worse financial situation than the after effects of 911 . their unlikely to get squat ….. I don’t know if there’s even anything left on the table for them to grab , but if there is they should take it … the longer they drag this out the more miserable their going to make themselves because trust me their won’t be impressive gains coming ..

As many of you know I wonder if their will be a mass return to the BK contracts , but ina situation where you have too work groups still in separate contracts , I wonder what will happen …. What will happen to the work group in the lesser contract ? will they be stuck in it for another 5 or 6 years ? who knows …

It sounds to me like you are saying that it is okay for your union to negotiate (push hard) to get gains, but anyone else? Heck that would bring the company down.

Is that about right?

sharktooth rest assured he knows nothing about a union he is all about himself .He was quite willing to throw 19 small stations under the bus to get his money, now with 600 already going to be laid off in LAS and those 19 stations squarely on the chopping block he wants all of us to give up our holidays to save them.He is a company koolaid drinker who flips like a pancake

please do not connect him to our union in any way

Maybe headed that way, but that does not mean Bankruptcy is their final destination. If US heads to BK, they are toast. The liquidation of US and possibly others will help those that are still standing. Also, I have to think that oil prices will drop, maybe not to $50, but they will drop.

Probably soon all will be in BK.. The problem is nobody wants to be the first. I think once one goes into BK it
will be like a domino effect.. one will go and so on, so on, so on! What do you think?

I have been in ground school the last couple of days and we had our standard management pilot come and talk to us. Not very upbeat. He said our cost is well over $600 per passenger right now. He said we were not getting anywhere near that in fares.

Interesting P.B., that sounds like the stategy laid out to us yesterday in ground school. I did not think too much of it because it is LCC can really do.
