I have heard some talk of some members having a desire to form a One Local TWU operation at AA.

I admit it peaks my interest when I hear the concept, but have never seen or read a proposal of structure.

What would this structure look like?

What would be the benefits?

What would be the pitfalls?

We can all agree that our current structure is not presenting adequate representation and leading to a weaking of the Union.
But what would be the solution? And what would that look like?

Do you think we could begin a draft proposal here, and over time formulate an acceptable change/proposal for presentation and vote?

It's my observation that you have probably insulted to many on here to get any meaningful feedback...

I believe it is a good idea. I also believe that two factions would fight for "control", TWU 514 and the International.

Structure - again a Tulsa based operation or the International claiming a good structure is already in place.

Benefits - the largest local in a central part of the country.

Pitfalls -

We had that at Piedmont for maintenance it was Local Lodge 2444 located in Winston-Salem.

Unless you live in that area, you cannot attend meetings at all and not have your voice heard.

Bad idea, how is someone in LAX going to attend a LL meeting or yet be an officer of the lodge when you are in LAX?

Where would the local be?

I am perfectly fine with leaving things the way the are, I have top seniority, and I have mine ....brother.

I am surely unworthy of effecting change for the better. Most of you here can get that done without help.
That is why we complain and moan all the time.

Let me get this straight, you wont divulge your "source" due to respect and request? now you hear talk of people wanting to start one twu/aa local? i think for years there has really been one maintenance local based centrally located in Tulsa with a few satellite locals around the country. can you say "roll call vote"? ok so now the biggest maintenance local elects a fleet service clerk as president, never met him can't knock em if you dont know him. But you couldn't find ONE title one member not even a welder to lead? IHOP i think you need to have the voices in your head examined

Key point being how to revamp the structure. Do it right, and it could really turn things around for you guys. Do it wrong, and it's merely deck chair rearranging. IMHO, I don't see it happening until the Intl's stranglehold is removed.

Valid points, but I think that the advances in technology since those days have made that hurdle a lot smaller. In fact, webcasting meetings/online voting/etc. might actually increase participation.

The only webcasting we do here in Okiehoma is from a bass boat... 🙂

Airline employees receive non-rev privileges making the transcon haul easy and affordable (if not free)

See you have the typical makeup of ignorance that makes this Union weak.

No proposal has even been made, I have not claimed to support or not support the idea. (Exclude Satire Comment)

Yet, you with your emotional inbalance of a 12 year old can do nothing but complain, call names, and show disrepect for others.

For the record, I was prohibited from running for Union Office due to my involvement with the AMFA Organizing Campaign.
TWU Local By-Laws, Challenged by E-Board Member Greg Sewell, upheld by the Local 514 Election Committee.

And Unlike you, I will show the respect requested from the source related to the "Red Circling of the Line" meetings.

If you could try to raise your level of maturity and intelligence, we may be able to come to consensus on how to improve our representation. If you insist on being opposed to any idea or change, based who is bringing the matter forward for disucssion, instead of open debating using reasoning and logic, you will forever be with poor representation along with being a miserable and sad human being.

I bet you are shaved head, and believe some form of violence is the answer to most problems you encounter.

Informer you really need to lay off the message boards for a little while you are getting way to emotional. fyi you are pretty good at personnel attacks when it doesn't go your way.
