😛h34r: A Turkish A340 managed to severely damge 7AM yesterday. Extensive damage to the elevator (it was cut in two) also damage to the wingtip. Might also be damage to the stabiliser spars but that will tkae a bit longer to find out. 7AM was stationary at the time, looks like the Turkish moved without ATC clearance. BA are doing the hangar work. Going to cost a pretty penny i think!!

Man, how would you like to see a pay roll deduction for that fender bender OUCH!!

The A340 took off later that evening, minus a winglet carrying some speed tape!! Top job! Apparently there is an elevator on the way from Seattle, it'll take a few days to get here as they have to build a crate first. No further structural damage to the horizontal stabiliser. Should be back making money in a few days.

Bob you are the complete pessimist. you need to crawl under the rock you came out from

what do you do that you found this out no fault

If anyone has access to www.aapilots.com, there are pictures of the damage on the 777 fleets section. Deep cut in horizontal stabilizer, looks like a knife went through a stick of butter.

What do I what?????

Better slow down on the Kool aid.

Unless you were replying to Nofaultfound. If thats the case his name should tell you what he does "No fault found" is a way of signing off a PIREP without making a repair, could be legit, or just a whip. By the way if you still dont get it mechanics repair aircraft and answer Pireps, or pilot reports of discrepancies.

any other place we can check out the pics?

Speaking of pictures, does anyone know where to find those pictures of that 767 a few years back that ran in to a flock of birds (I think comming out of Paris) and looked like to was over Berlin in 1943? That must have scared the crap out of the crew and pax.

Everyone has been talking about that this week. I was flying back from Zurich last week and the 767 guys were talking about it and someone brought it up on my airbus trip two days ago. I have never seen those pics.
