Bring Crandall back

That's the type of leadership missing in the company. Crandall was a visionary and an innovator

Bob was on CNBC earlier:

"Those who want to save the institution are glad they’ve done it. Without competitive costs, the institution’s going to fail."

"They simply could not get the unions to make a deal that would yield costs equal to those of the other carriers. This appears to be the only way they can save the company."

On whether American could merge with another carrier, or its assets acquired by one: "There’s nothing it fits terribly well with. There may be some parts of US Air that might be grafted onto American."
