Cantor on 60 min

Cantor is just another big government Republican who wouldn't know history or the COTUS even if his life depended on it.

We're Over regulated, Over taxed and the Congress makes a mockery of the COTUS on a near daily basis and this retard comes on blathering about the history and spirit of Ronald Reagan? When he he clearly has little knowledge of either.

Ronald Reagan was a Conservative with a capital "C"!! What he inherently understood was that line from the Rolling Stones song, "You can't always get what, But sometimes you just might find you get what you need" He had some core values that he would not compromise on. Everything else was negotiable. In that regard, he and Bill Clinton were very much alike. Clinton compromised from the Left, Reagan from the right and in the end the country was prosperous during their terms

VERY GOOD analogy SparrowHawk, very good.

PS, Hillary(with Bill in tow) will do the SAME THING !

It's funny how so many on the right, Cantor is not the only one, who pray at the alter of Reagan who are ignorant of his record. Reagan raised taxes and comprimised with the other side on more than one occasion. Just don't tell that to people like Cantor or Grover Norquist.

He never compromised his basic conservative ideals though. That's what made him great. Clinton shared many of those traits and some more obvious or at least publicized more traits that were not shared by Reagan.

BOTH, however also knew how to do a deal in order to get at least some part of their agenda enacted into law. THIS is what separates true leaders from the Barack Obama's of the world. NOT their ideology, but their character, honor and integrity is what made them effective. One can only speculate what the Clinton Years may have looked like without Ms Lewinsky.

Guys like Cantor are more of the same big government types who see Freedom and Liberty as theirs to confiscate via NDAA, SOPA, RICO, FISA and the Patriot Act among others to numerous to mention or recall

Who do you think was running the show, in the first place, when Bill was in office ?

Bill was and still is Hillary's B!TcH !

Reagans conservative agenda turned out to be a disaster.

Reagans conservative agenda turned out to be a disaster.

If you call a annual the below a disaster, then I guess you'd be right.
Reagan's approach was a departure from his immediate predecessors. Reagan enacted lower marginal tax rates in conjunction with simplified income tax codes and continued deregulation. During Reagan's presidency the annual deficits averaged 4.2% of GDP after inheriting an annual deficit of 2.7% of GDP in 1980 under president Carter. The rate of growth in federal spending fell from 4% under Jimmy Carter to 2.5% under Ronald Reagan. GDP per working-age adult, which had increased at only a 0.8 annual rate during the Carter administration, increased at a 1.8 percent rate during the Reagan administration. The increase in productivity growth was even higher: output per hour in the business sector, which had been roughly constant in the Carter years, increased at a 1.4 percent rate in the Reagan years.

Where do I go to sign up for a disaster like the one above?

I have a confession to make, it's not really what I said it's what Ron Paul said back in 1987.

At about the six minute mark.

I listened to the speech in 1987 and as I voted for him then, I'm voting for him now. He sounds just fine to me regarding the comments made at the 6 minute mark, What seems to have your panties in a bunch?

So you knew about his comment on Reagan and did not share it with the rest of us? Why is that? 😉

If you are fine with it kind of goes against your previous post on this thread where you try and refute that Reagan's conservative agenda was a disaster. My panties are'nt in a bunch, I just enjoy pointing this little factoid out to the people who worship Reagan and Paul. It's fun to watch their wheels spin.

Ron Paul's point from a pure Libertarian view is both appropriate and accurate. He was speaking to the Party faithful. Without getting into a whole "thing" regarding the Libertarian Party there was a much more active "Anarchist Wing" back then. Paul was chosen to run partly because he could keep that wing under control.

He was one of 4 Congressmen to support RR at one point so I'm thinking when he took his foray into the Libertarian Party he did so not out of a lack of support of RR but out of frustration with the direction of Washington. I'm not him, I'm speculating. RR had many flaws and IMO the reason his light shines so bright today was he was viewed as a man of principle, even by those who held his views in open contempt. Those who support Dr Paul in many cases feel exactly the same way about his principled approach.

There is a percentage of Ron Paul supporters who will (if asked) admit to some misgivings regarding his beliefs on certain topics. They will also discount their misgivings by saying, "At least I know where he stands, he's stood there for 30 years".

Must a "Cantor on 60 minutes" Thread also become a SparrowHawk Ron Paul cheering section? Don't you already have 5 or 6 of those?

You may wish to take your question up with 777fixer. I went back and his post in the form of a question to me seems to be the point where we depart from Cantor and the Neo-Con Wing of the Political Parasite Class. Which kind of saddens me as I was really looking forward to having some fun blasting away at the Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity crowd with glee.

Oh well we'll always have Paris.
