I bet the 4500 as a rebate will be considered income for you....didn't IRS tax rebates automakers gave about 20 yrs ago?

People have loans they can't afford to pay.....trading in their car they can't afford to own, to buy a new car they still can't afford????
Sounds good to me......where do I sign up?

Thank you Obama you are the best!

Where are you getting this from?

Is Obama now a loan officer for banks & personally approving banks' loans?

How is it Obama's fault if banks continue to make loans to people who cannot afford to pay.

I did my share of pointing out Bush's failures, when there was actually evidence of it...

but this way out in left field.

You are talking apples and oranges, Tech. No, Obama is not a loan officer. Very stupid comment, even for you. Your superman Obamaman pushed this as something that would "stimulate" the economy......make dealerships across the USA vibrant....hence the auto Companies sell cars, put people to work.....Blah.....blah....This was a payoff to the Unions and the banks. Dealerships waiting for their checks, and people turning in junk for cars they cannot afford in the first place. Government beuacracy at it's finest!!

Way to go super hero Obamaman!!

Would Obama stimulate or 'simulate' the economy??? 😱

First, you argue that it was a payoff for GM and Chrysler.

Then, you said it has benefited the foreign car makers, so the program was a failure.

Then, you try and turn this into the sub-prime mortgage crisis for cars program. That does not fly.

Now it is payoff for the UAW?

You are all over the place. Pick a position, stick with it, and defend it.

How is it that near as I can tell NO ONE has asked or has the information been forthcoming regarding just how the rebates will be accounted for tax wise?

And while I'm at it who in there right mind would enter into a contract without knowing the tax consequences of that contract.

Can you say S-T-U-P-I-D, I knew that you could
I guess you haven't been paying attention Bob.

That is Obama's fault.

Just like the sub-prime mortgage loans were Bush's fault. Neither of which are true.

Breaking News!

There is no evidence that banks, stung by the sub-prime debacle are suddenly now giving auto loans to people who cannot afford to pay them back.

Somehow, somewhere, some talking point has been generated to produce this.

There was no such policy or decree.

Go ahead and prove me wrong by showing me where "Obama decreed all projects had to have US made goods"

There were some who wanted all "US made goods".

Of course that is impossible to do in this global economy, and they knew that. It was simply a ploy to wrap themselves in a flag and throw stones, no matter how successful the project became.
