CBS - Andrew is leaving US

Unless you had a skirt on, Andrew could care less about your issue or helping. If you were a male you should just keep on walking or risk getting a short, rude and unhelpful response. Items in his office were disappearing for weeks. He knew his days were numbered and rightfully so. Anyone who can come into a briefing with spaghetti stains on his Izod shirt and khaki pants, well....doesn't need to be the Manager of In flight PHL International. The example starts at the top.
He will be fine. He owns another business and is fairly involved in Philly politics.

Andrew Was First To Help The ATL Commuters In Getting Airport Parking When The Company DID NOT Want To Do ANything!! He Was ALWAYS Willing To Help ANYONE, Wether In A Skirt Or Not, So Leave The NASTY Comments Behind Please! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE!!!

He was very helpful, always willing to do whatever was asked. In my opinion, he was FOR the F/A's, and that is against what management believes in. They want to screw us anyway they can! More importantly, what are the dynamics of who will be put in that position? Some kiss a$$, one of SK friends, or DW friends. We shall see corporte politics now! Who is qualified? Only Sue S right now. We shall see......maybe PP?

"I ain't one to gossip, so ain't heard this from me"............In Living Colour....loved that skit!!!! Anypoop......

I heard that he was "asked" to leave (if you get my drift) and he had po-po escort him off of the property!!

Not sure what he did, but...... He was a nice guy and I found him helpful.

If you read the CBS......when one is axed it always says..... "...opportunities outside the company...". And it doesn't come from them. It comes from someone in upper mgmt.

Did it come from him? mmmmmmm

<SNIP> Pretty much as the same as when a line f/a says they are leaving. There is no such thing as a two weeks notice. Your considered some sort of threat and you are done on the spot.
You mean if I had started blabbing about quitting a month before I sent in my resignation letter, I would’ve been shown the door early?

Do you all remember the little management survey? Andrew kept sending out emails begging us to fill it out. That's the ONLY reason that I did it. Anyway, my responses were in the vein of : US inflight management is abysmal, except for Andrew.

Well, I think that's what a lot of people put down, because suddenly he was base manager.

I have felt guilty ever since.

I knew it, they would take a nice pro-flight attendant guy and chew him up, run him over and then spit him out. US is if nothing else consistent about abusing good people. He was one of the few good ones, they'll realize how much he did when they watch PHL decompose as normal, I wish he wasn't gone but he's probably better off out of this morass.

Much luck Andrew, you'll be missed!

Ps. Beware who replaces him, undoubtedly they'll be swooshy koolaid.

never would want to suggest an ethnic steroype..
but its phl

and Phl is phl..
know what I mean..
we all hate having to go thru PHl much less be based in PHL..
why do you think Douggie put more people in PHL to clean it up??

LOL

Get over yourself. You and your friends are not everybody. Philadelphia is home to many employees. Not everyone commutes just because you choose to. It's a fantastic, historic, beautiful city, and is the nations fourth or fifth largest metro area so obviously other people agree. Why not put in a transfer? Much of the trips at the Shuttle bases never touch PHL. Or better yet, go apply at one of the commuters if you want to be based in some podunk town.

Unfortunately this is the style of management we have seen for years at America West and you are now beginning to witness firsthand at US Airways.

If anyone in management garners the respect from the frontline workers they are not long for this airline. We have seen time and time again various managers from mid-level to senior VPs that were respected by their peers get the proverbial axe. When managers garner respect from those they manage, they do not fit within the business model of US Airways. A business model where management rules by fear and intimidation and any admiration from the rank and file is strictly forbidden.

This is why people like Sherri Shambles, Mike Finn, etc., etc., hold onto their positions for the long term. They create and maintain a relationship of animosity, hate and lack of trust from the workgroups they manage. This is the type of environment that US Airways wants to have on property...and for the most part you only have to look at our DOT stats for Customer Service to see the end results.

I wish the best for Andrew wherever he chooses his next career.

I will never believe a single bad word said about him. Whatever happened was not his fault--I'm sure of it.

Thanks for always bringing a smile to my face Andrew, and good luck!

what part of big oh drama queen BEAR don't you get...ho ho time for him to go...

Phl88, don't let it get to you. I am always amazed that people who would never survive anywhere else found their way to US.

If they ever got to experience another corporation, good and bad, they'd recognize good people when they saw them, as it is, they're woefully ignorant and destined to sound that way indefinitely.

Andrew is a nice man. As I said, he'll be missed by those who actually knew him.
