CEO's of these airlines that outsource work to third world countries should be forced to fly on their airlines aircraft for business purposes. Why should an airline CEO be allowed to subject the public to the dangers of shoddy third world work while they fly in private jets (especially since their whole business revolves around transporting people with aircraft)?

Just a thought.

Just goes to show you how ridiculous the airline business is.

Uh, which airline CEO's take private jets???

Unless it's an exception where time was critical or there wasn't commercial service, most airline execs fly their own airline or another airline... Herb was a regular on AA's DFW-DCA flights when he was testifying to Congress. Crandall and Arpey flew AA -- Carty even tried to change the travel policy so his toddler son could fly in F on passes...

90% of what SkySteward was complaining about was execs bumping revenue passengers...

So which is it? They're bumping passengers, or taking private jets?...

Eric,

You take all the fun out of bashing management.
Common Sense logic is non-existant in management bashing.

I worry about this when I think about US Airways buying us out. They will outsorce a lot of our jobs to foreign contractors.

There planning on doing that anyway...
Yes, the TWU has came to an agreement with USAir and the only item I personally heard about was a guarantee f 24 months employment for the base at TUL.

Back in April, it was in the news about USAIRWAYS, making a deal with PIT for more maintenance brought back inhouse. Not sure if that had to do with PEMCO bankruptcy and PEMCO getting rid of 1 hangar.

It's funny on how we can't come to an agreement with our own company after 4+ years, but come up with an agreement with someone else in a matter of days. And the only thing we were told was a 2 year job guarantee in TUL. Makes me wonder where the priorities are...

Just curious, but does anyone know what AMFA's views are on this merger?

It's even more of a shame that TWU didn't get a deal done with the company that could have prevented this. But even so we would have been hostage to the pilots and flight attendants also getting deals done to avoid the bankruptcy. But I don't think it HAD to be this way.
