Yeah, reads like just another typical media hatchet-job by a reporter with an anti-SWA agenda. These challenges still come off looking mighty trivial when compared to the problems facing all other major airlines.

The bubble has burst big time in this industry. Although the ripple effect has yet to reach SWA yet, it will sooner or later. SWA is not immune from this unprecedented industry wide depression we are in now. It may not be as severe at SWA, but it will affect SWA in some way.
 
It already has. My anticipated 5-year upgrade is now looking iffy.
 
wannabe, you're wrong. Upgrades got down to 4.5 prior to 9/11, but line holding captains have petty much been frozen since then. There hasn't been an upgrade class for months.
 
Thanks for the info Rhino......I just have a quick question......How hard would it to get Chicago as your base as a new hire pilot.....Just wondering!
