Cheerleader Camp August 7th

we covered moral, catering, staffing , accountability and many other things. the first four just stood out. moral was a big one follwed by staffing then catering. folks. we have good people on this focus group.

Moral? Is there a problem right off the start? You meant "morale", right? In which case, why are you there?

I cannot believe your are so, um, ignorant. That can be fixed.

They don't want to fix "problems". They want you to take on the responsibility for those problems, without the authority to fix those problems. Get it? You are stooges.
 
we have gotten together to try to fix what is wrong with inflight . it will not be fixed overnight .

It's been 2 years. This is the same garbage that we have heard over and over and over again. Changes are a coming. Heard that in the beginning. Heard that in April. Told good stuff was coming in June--nada. Then it was coming in August--nada. Maybe September? Yeah, right. We hear it and hear it and hear it but nothing changes. I love the "we'll revisit it" answer--they say that all the time...they revisit it and do nothing. They now think that they can throw $75, $100, $300 and higher vouchers at customers to make them fly again after all the problems they cause. People will quickly find out that the vouchers they are giving out are about as useless as the promises they continue to make. They have no credibility until they make immediate changes--what the heck are they waiting for???? I think snarky hit it on the head--they are trying to minimize conflict until they get this pig to the slaughterhouse so that they can collect their bacon. This management team is nothing but smoke and mirrors. Snarky is right on the other point about having you all take the responsibility without any authority to do anything. This is part of their lame game that worked out West, but is failing miserably now that they are playing with the big boys.
 
well . take it how you want it ussnark and yfare. i ain't gonna sit here and argue with you guys . and ussnark, you do not have to insult me dude. i have not insulted you in anyway. i know your pissed at the way this company is being guided. but no need for insults. you guys wanted to know what was said so i posted it . if your gonna insult people over it then why post anything at all? you guys are probrably right . maybe they are gearing up to sell us or merge but we can't just stop doing nothing to try to make things better. when the time comes to merge with someone then we deal with i then. have a good night fellas.
 
did anyone at least let her know that people refer to her as Sherri Shambles?

You seem to have a good idea that this company is "in the dumper". So, what did you say? What are you doing to change this POS? You have a chance, what did you do? Kiss tutu? Yet again?

I'd be happy to not insult you were you to actually do half the stuff you say you will do. You can be a good guy. Grab your cajoles and actually stand up for the FAs. Try it some day. The rest of us might actually respect you for it.
 
This is absolutely ridiculous how everyone is responding to these posts. Quite childish - yet quite expected with this board. I personally know 2 flight attendants who were in CLT and let me tell you - not only are they the most professional I have flown with - but they are also the MOST vocal when it comes to holding the company accountable. I have seen them take meals up to catering after a flight (on their own time)and demand an answer as to why it was even boarded because it was so sub-standard. I have watched them challenge management, gate agents and inflight supervisors because they knew these people were not following procedure. They wanted to make sure that we, as front line employees were being backed up. Call them cheerleaders, kool-aid drinkers, whatever, but I have a tremendous amount of respect that these guys and girls at least showed up and attempted to communicate to Sherri Clueless. Will it be fixed? Who knows - but at least they tried to make it better for all of us who are having to deal with this joke of managment. Instead of throwing darts you should at least be glad they tried to help all of us.
 
thanks fytchick. i don't think ussnark really knows who i am. beleive me ussnark i have been down sherri's back for a while but i do it respectfully . insults will not get you anywhere. andi stand up for the f/a's every single day. i have a feeling you are mistaking with someone else. and i alone cannot do anything. that's why we have a group of people . the people who know me know i have been vocal to the company on many issues that are f'd up around here especially the lodo program since i use to be one. maybe we can fly together and talk about it . i thnk face to face is much more effective than the keyboard.

Your comments contradict past statements made. You gave praise when SS was promoted, Do you not feel that way anymore?
 
I guess I don't understand why no one is saying, Hey guys, no one believes that anything is going to be done. We need immediate changes because it gets worse everyday. You say you can't have immediate changes? Why not? It may cost them more in the short term, but in the long term it would pay off. Handing out crappy vouchers for crappy service so that you can be exposed to crappy service in the future shows that they are missing the point.

When you hear things like, well we'll reconvene in 2 months to talk about how bad it is, it sends the message that they are doing nothing but talking about what is bad without fixing it. If they were really serious about this, they would have a task force of flight attendants with the ability to make changes working on the problems rather than talking about the problems. Whatever you may think about snarky and his comments, he's right. They have made you believe that YOU can make a difference for U without giving YOU any authority to do it. Instead, they are place responsibility on YOU for changes without the ability to implement. It is total BS and I am really surprised the employees cannot see through this charade.
 
when sherri was promoted yes i was happy becuase it was a new person and we needed someone fresh and new to guide inflight .(i was bumbed to see ron cole go) i do admit she has made mistakes along the way. and decisions that drove me up the wall. i have seen her in the crew news sessions and wondered what the hell is she saying and why is she saying that . i have met sherri personally and she is a good person . she really does care for the f/a group . i may be wrong but i think she came into this without knowing how vocal the east f/a group was going to be. i told her on a flight once that you need to becareful what you say to the east f/a group . they will chew you up and spit you out. that was after the crew news when a f/a asked about the reserve issue and she said " well it's a sticky situation because that was voted on" that got me boiling. i confronted her about that on a flight . i told her that we did not vote on that. we voted on a lto system with a pref bid system. but what i like about sherri is that she takes critisisim from f/a very well. now wheni talk to her i am not disprespectful. sherri has a tough job trying to guide this combined f/a group. i sure as hell wouldn't want it . would you ? i think that her forming this group is a good step. will it work ? i never saw sherri groff doing anything like this. heck she never even answered any e-mails she had sheryl lendevay do that. i we do not like her that's fine but we have to work with her. you guys want to see change overnight hey so do i but it doesen't work that way. i am not a very patient person myself. i think she is trying . i am a lover not a fighter but when i have to fight i will . and if she does something or say something i feel is wrong belive me she hears from me . i am not going to not like her because other people do not like her . it could be anyone in her position and that person will not be liked because you cannot satisfy everyone especially the f/a group. i just really don't know what else to tell you buddy.


and ps . i am not the only one who joined this focus goup so cut the bashing on etops ok. i have done nothing wrong and neither has the other f/a's who joined. we are all trying to make it right not wrong. we know there are problems out there that need to be fixed. big problems. we have been running a crappy inflight service for more than while and we need to get it right. that's why this group was formed. it wasn't so you guys could start calling us cheerleaders or kool-aid drinkers. we are far far from that. there are 160 very vocal and pissed off f/a's in this group including myself. you all had a chance to join to voice your anger and opinions on what needs to change. you decided not to because you did not care. it won't change by just sitting there on your computers and bitching on usaviation. you gotta go out there and do something about it. this airline needs to change . it needs to get better for our employees and customers alike . i can't stress that enough. if you feel that there is no hope for this airline then i am sorry but i can't let that sorry ass excuse be my guide. we have wonderful great employees here at usairways (well maybe not at terminal F in phl) just kidding. i must admit i have lost alot of pride in this airline these past months. i want to get it back though and i am sure many of you do as well.
