CLT paychecks not received

for anyone on the "west" side....does anyone know what the line on your pay that states "cash incentive/incentive programs" means? My admin gets a 3 day weekend so I can not find an answer from anyone and of course, it is burning question on my mind---and my pay!!! Thanks for any help!

Is there a typo with your ID? Seems like it should be Whineybob. Direct deposit is the only way to go. What would have happened to the check if it had been there on Thursday and you were sick or on vacation, would it be managements fault that you didnt get it on Thursday?
Amen to that!

Paychecks are done thursday, but dated friday. As for the rhetoric and whining, some people just love to complain, and will complain if their wasn't something to complain about.

<SNIP> If you want to brutally honest about it, US should do what my company did. Gave us no choice, told us "Give us your information, If you wanna work here, we're going to direct deposit".
US required just that with the FA group. The only downside (IMO) was that it went to the Credit Union. So I ended up writing two checks a month on my Credit Union account to my “realâ€￾ bank.

Sometime in the mid 90’s we were able to have the funds deposited to any institution we chose.

How is this even an issue? Payday is not until Friday. If you received checks on Thursday in the past, you were getting your checks early. If the complaint is that you weren't given an explanation, what type of information do you want? "Paychecks will be ready by 10:00 on payday" seems pretty thorough to me.

Do you really care why the paychecks were "late"? If so, why? Is it too much to understand that people can make mistakes, systems can act up, and processes can get delayed? Oh, I forgot, according to this board, no one can "understand" another person's position unless they spend 30 years in it.

Get direct deposit people. You still get a deposit advice with the complete breakdown of your pay. Plus, it saves you that trip to the bank.

Bob,

Usually you are a voice of reason from the real world on here, but I think you have been drinking too much of the employee's Kool-Aid here. Payday is Friday. End of story. The checks are on time if they come Friday. This whole thread is a bunch of whiners who have nothing more to do than complain about everything. How can they come to work everyday being so miserable. More so, what motivates them to even get out of bed?

Personally, While they could have given more information and been a little more responsive to inquiries, this appears to be much ado over nothing--as long as the checks are received by Friday morning, which is actually payday.

The question remains--did those who get direct deposit receive their deposits this morning or is it only a glitch with physically delivered checks?

You certainly deserve to be paid on time, and if there is a glitch you certainly deserve more of an explanation than you got--they do owe you that, but as long as the checks did arrive by Friday, what's the problem? If payday is Friday and you get your check on Friday, that should be it. They could communicate better, but that is a known issue.

No disrespect intended, but I think we could all better spend our energy by working on more serious issues.

My best to you all.....

I can only comment from my perspective. In my work area 1/2 the folks have Fri/Sat off and the rest have Sun/Mon off, 3 shifts a day, 7 days a week. For those who work 2nd shift it has been convenient to receive one's check on Thur. night to go to the bank on Fri., otherwise it would be Mon. before you could cash it. I agree about Direct deposit, however, I don't like the co. having access to my personal accounts.

If payday is Friday, why have I been getting paid on Thursday for 23 years?

My employer has changed when we get our checks. We used to get them Thursday before 12:00. Now we can't get them until 4:00 pm on Thursday. They explained a rule change in the way check fraud is being handled as the reason why they could not let the checks out earlier than this. Not saying that this is related other than shares of Kimberly-Clark are up today on better than expected sales of Kleenex tissues along the east coast.

Check the pay date on each of those checks / statements.
All's I'm saying is that no matter what the company says, if they pay me a day early and do it for over 23 years that early day is my payday. I think it's called "past precedent" and it will stand up in a court or arbitration, IMO.

Muircross,

You are 100% correct, the company has been paying the employees for at least 20 years plus on Thursday and that does qualify as "past practice" and an arbiter would definitely rule in the employees favor.

... and an arbiter would definitely rule in the employees favor.
You're a legal expert now, 700? You can be sure that "past precident" wouldn't hold up here. If the checks have been dated Friday, then the company has every right to pay you on or before that date. Plain and simple.

And, what exactly would you take the company to court over? To make the company guarantee to pay on Thursday? Good luck. I'm going to chime in here and say the same thing - get direct deposit.
