Has US planned accordingly for the 57 hour shutdown of 18C? Seems like it could be a cluster in the making...

There has been many emails, conference calls on the shut down. Many flights are cancelled and others retimed. So I would say for the most part we have worked on the shut down. It puts the flighs operating on Aug 11 and 12 full with the cancellations and adjustments. Just hope we dont have any weather to contend with.

When is the new runway - 18R - supposed to be operational?
Scheduled for Nov of this year to go VFR, and then after a six month burn in of the navaids it will go IFR..The paving is approx 98% done, lights and signs are being installed right now, shoulders are being layed, it looks really nice, going to be a nice addition..

Looks like plenty of real estate between 18C and 18R. Any plans for developing that area?

The taxiways (N & S) that connect 18C and 18R have been crowned for another runway that is planned in the future...

Norfolk & Southern's intermodal rail yards are being relocated to the area between the runway.
Thats just the spur, the yard will be south of the runways...the 5th runway if built will be where the old express hangar was.
