CLT prepared?

Would it be another crosswinds runway?
The only thing we were told is that it would be a good wx only runway...I was just looking at the plan, and your right there will be a small switching yard between TW N & S and the bigger yard starts abeam W3 and goes south...

News said this morning average delay was 23 minutes.

I worked two flights in and out of CLT today..both arrived 20 mins early...maybe they should keep the runway closed permanetly..LOL...just kidding

From what I've heard, sounds like the express flights are getting held and taking the brunt of the delays to make room for ML arrivals, I could be wrong. And if I'm not mistaken, Dougie bonus is only on ML stats, not including express...........go figure

I heard there were diversions to GSP, on airliners.net a poster said that he saw an A330 landing in GSP this afternoon.

US 733 LGW-CLT that had diverted to GSP. It had departed for CLT after sitting in GSP for about an hour. There may have been thunderstorms or something that caused the diversion.

COMMENTS: THE CLT PRGM HAS BEEN REVISED DUE TO EXCESSIVE AIRBORNE INVENTORY. PLEASE ADHERE TO NEW EDCT'S.

CLT was showing a 32 aircraft rate and if more than 32 showed up in a given hour, the excess (above 32) spilled over into the next hour's demand, which delayed them and the delays cascaded down the line. The term "EXCESSIVE AIRBORNE INVENTORY" means that some arriving flights are likely going to be holding, and if the delays escalated above what was planned for fuel-wise, it's off to the alternate one may have to go..

Worked in and out thru CLT the past 3 days, when they had said on the 10th the runway was closed (or thats what the pilots had said ;-). Minimal delays. came in this morning appx, 7:30, the left at 9:00, no lines, no waiting.

We did have a slower arrival due to weather, but landed on schedule at 5;30PM.

Left again tonight at 8;20, after leaving gate at 7:55.

The longest amount of time (and the delayed that resulted) was the "Security" check on an inbound caribbean flt.

So far so good, but then again, I'm off tomorrow ;-)

Between the ground stop and a 2 hour EDCT delay, 3:30 min late yesterday. 2130 scheduled arrival, pulled into CLT a little before 2430.

Utter fiasco.
