I have a different view than most write on this subject and in my view, I can understand the hate and fear on both sides.
The government wants the U.S to believe that if we don't fight them in IRAQ, they will come here. THat is the "new mantra" in order to justify the continuing war and presence in Iraq. You may think that I am citing a "liberal" view, but I'm neither.
I believe the U.S. view is that "these people" want the world to be Islam. I think they have been indoctrinated to believe that the West is evil and will destroy their way of life.
I am only citing what the media and has reported. I haven't lived there, haven't studied the Islam religtion, so I don't really know if we in the States are really getting the entire broad global story of what the "truth" is. Just as I believe the middle eastern muslim community don't know what the "truth" really is except what their political leaders indoctrinate.
Being in poverty, no job, and having no forseeable future except that they have been told that in martydim they will be heavenly rewarded. Who there is to teach and tell them differently. There is a civil war in IRAQ; like any other civil uprising, those sectarian radicals are fighting each other now over what I stated above...power and control of the country.
The leaders are not the ones strapping bombs to their bodies. They are getting the weak minded in their society to do this "in the name of god". I believe its more about political power, land, control than it is about religion. I believe that the U.S occupation in Afganistan and IRAQ has inflamed these extremists who believe the U.S is so arrogant to come in and destroy their cities for the sake of what our gov. views as freedom, liberty, democracy....or else.
I have a very good and close (U.S citizen) friend who just returned from Egypt after living there for 6 years and practicing medicine in a hosptital there. He said that what we see in the U.S and the media is not the full "truth". We as a people should do our best to discern the information and be critical of what we hear and what our leaders tell us is "truth".
I do know this, there is no way that the we ( the people) would tolerate any foreign occupation in our country, tanks on our streets and missles in our airspace. We in the U.S have no conceptulization of what that would be like. We have never been occupied. We can only imagine, and that thought alone angers us enough to inflame war and hate as a people and continue a war in Iraq.
The U.S. occupation that is reality in those countries inflame THEIR people with the same intensity, enough to inflame war and hate as a people.
I like it Local, nice touch. To add, I have another idea which I am sure won't 'bode' well with the lefties. Lets invite all the ME Jews over here. We can give them some southwestern border space to set up their 'Settlements'. This way we do 2 things, keep them out of "Harm's Way" and we now have the best Cops to keep the Taco's on their side of the Fence. I'll mow my own yard. Let the Arabs have J-Town, it's worse than Nawlins anyways. (SNL idea) 😛h34r:
According to the Moskovski Komsomol newspaper, Russian security forces have decided to bury the terrorists from last's week's hostage siege wrapped in pig's skin. The aim is to deter potential Islamic terrorists from future attacks.
Shahidi (Jihad martyrs) believe by their nefarious acts that they ascend immediately to heaven. Using their beliefs against them, wrapping their corpses in 'unclean' pigskin prevents them from entering heaven for eternity

So then there is a vast global conspiracy in the news media just to prevent the Americans from getting the truth? My internet works pretty good to get news from outside this country....oops....the automatic news censor just came on...you're right....BTW,your US media is somewhat democrat controlled(US Gov't)He said that what we see in the U.S and the media is not the full "truth". Take the case of Osama. He was a rich western educated Saudi that gave up everything to live in destitution to lead for his ‘cause’. His only existence is to kill us for his ‘jihad’ against his belief that the US presence in the Middle East is against the Quran and Islamic law. He was/is not seeking political power or wealth, he sacrificed it all for his belief.

Osama is a "hater" of foreign occupation. He fought with he U.S who were helping the Afgan rebels when the Soviets were occupying thier country. He wanted the Soviets out...as he wants, now, the U.S out of Afganistan and Iraq.
Osama didn't always hate the West. He got to that place because of the government arrogance and U.S dictation of what should be for the middle east people...(Lebanon, Afganistan, Iraq, Israel and Palestine)
That is not why he hates the U.S. First and foremost he issued a Jihad against the U.S. because they were on the sacred soil in Saudi Arabia with troops and weapons. He said we needed to leave and because we didn't he declared war. Secondly, he hates the U.S. and those in this country that are not Muslim. His goal and vision for this world is to have one huge government run like the Taliban was run. The non-believers will have their heads cut off. It's in the Quran.
His sole purpose now is to work towards that goal using Al-Queda as his tool. While it's true he does hate foreign occupation his hate goes much deeper than that. If his sole purpose for hating us was occupying their country how do you explain the embassy bombings, Cole disaster and 9/11?

This post is so ignorant it's sad...You don't have a clue what Osama is about except for the garbage that is funneled down your throat nightly via the major networks.
I won't even go into detail other than to say research before posting falsehoods, please!
Thanks!![]()
I worked late and you beat me to the punch! 😛

Osama didn't always hate the West.
How do you know that? Just becaused he was willing to use us does not mean that he still did not hate us. In fact, his history proves this. No doubt that he is a very intelligent individual, and cunning as well (might have an IQ of 140 😛 ).

Hey luney tunes,
You know Osama personally?
Its YOU who is glued to the tube...making you more religiously fanatical and crazy then you were when I knew you.
Did you think that most of us wouldn't figure out who you are??? Just how many monikers have you had on this forum.
I will not engage you.
To the dismay of this administration, its been reported (since you allege you don't own a T.V.) that 67% of the IRAQ people want the military out or dead.
Bush stated he won't leave...so where does that leave the troops? They can't even trust the citizens that they are to protect....
THe conservative argument state that we bring Iraq people liberty and democracy... they say every human being has a right to freedom and democracy. Do these same people (Iraqieshave the "right" to want the U.S. out of Iraq?
Democracy??? yea, right.
