This is such a STUPID argument !

YES, it's in black and white....NO sleeping. BUT it's quietly CONDONED by management.

EACH and EVERY time AA tries to BREAK BALLS this way, all you AMT's have to do, is revert to OLD FAITHFULL............"Work to Rule"

NO union Airlines managemeny has EVER come out on top, via W-T-R.

Once the "kick offs" reach a certain point of "goin' DOWN the CRAPPER", HDQ calls off the Dogs, then its back to square one !
 
It is utterly amazing how stupid people are on this subject. The MX workload and the BOW are determined by computer well before the midnight mechanic arrives. Station Maintenance managers look at this and do what they can to minimize the workload and ensure that the planes make thier morning trips. When the work is done, and the logbook is signed, and the A/C is at the gate, its over. THAT IS ALL THAT MATTERS. Some poster had said it does'nt mean "squat", call MOC. MOC? What's the number? No maintenance manager would do such an idiotic thing. Even so, what would MOC say? Go back to sleep! This whole matter should be dealt with by local MX Mgmt., not some gung ho corporate storm troopers.
 
Has anyone heard the outcome of the 29Fs? This continuing argument may be for naught. The 8 could have been returned to duty, or cut loose permanently. Until the outcome is known, all the opinions available on this issue have pretty much been said - and then some.

Bottom line: If you were sleeping and got caught, there are consequences. If the Supervisor on the shift allowed this as standard practice then the Supv. should be held accountable. He/she acted out of the scope of their position. As a former union rep, if I were representing the worker, (as required), I would go after mangt. They are supposed to set the standard and insure work and rules are being followed. That is why they get the "big bucks" and the fancy title. (lol)

Three high timers retired and the other eight will fight it. I heard that the arbitration hearing is June 9th. Quite surprised usually it takes months.
I think they will get their jobs back only because previously on more than one occasion people who were caught sleeping were RTS. JFK a few years back when the whole situation was on Hardcopy. And recently in San Juan. Bob also mentioned another guy recently in JFk. A precident has been set but who knows. When I hear something I will let you know.
 
Mechs working the midshift have been sleeping on duty since day one. Now that times are tuff, with the high price of fuel, management has finally decided to do something about it. If they have time to sleep on their shift, then there needs to be some layoffs in order to save the company some money. The ones left working will have to pick up the slack rather than sleeping half their shift.

Now, all of you come after me as I am sure you are going to, but you have been caught. 8 hours work, for 8 hours pay. Very simple.


Well, pilot's have been sleeping on duty ever since the autopilot was first installed on an airplane. To really save money ,since times are tuff, the airlines need to get rid of the dinosaur airline pilot's. Automation has already far exceeded an airline pilot's limited mental capacity needed to fly an airplane,even in emergency situations. Automated airliner doesn't call in sick,get tired from working their outside business,or clog up the non-rev system with deheading pilot's that won't live in the same city were they are based. Time to get rid of the dead weight called airline pilot's.

Not sure what Big Shot in HDQ she was involved with,....BUT once it was over, she left AA.

Ahhh, but Lynn was a Very smart girl. She became an author, and penned a couple of fiction novels, using FACTUAL info, about BOS.

My son was hired in the same class as the young woman(at NW) who "disappeared" !


No "disappearances" at AA/BOS, but A former Ramp manager..."KNOWINGLY HELD" a FSC's job open for over 6 months while he served a PRISON TERM :shock:
(HEY,...If you were in the............."IN CROWD", ANYTHING was possible)


A former assignment CC(on afternoons) had a CONSTANT..."DEWARS and WATER" going(in an AA plastic cup no less) right on the desk, next to the computer.

This MFer terrorized 95% of the clerks on that shift, ...BUT ...BOY did he keep the OVERTIME from (95%) NEVER happening.

Mysteriously, EVERY Ramp SUPERVISOR's NOSE quit working.....when this prick was on duty,................AND...the RAMP manager/CS Manager......Always..."called ahead" when they made an appearance, or if the GM was "on his way down" !!


But as eolesen likes to point out,.................."Hey, keep talking NH/BB's. You never know when Corporate Security might SHOW UP " !

(Lets see now,.........the LAST time C-S showed up in BOS, was for a Large theft of time Sting.)
