You got that right bull--we have free short term and free long term here at HP and our medical benefits are much less expensive--but then of course united health care is less expensive than blue cross/shield. I think there's a lot to be said for a give and take but push comes to shove we really do need more money

It also may depend on which employee group you are with. Mine is $32.17 per pay period for UHC Choice.

All in all, the benefits have gone down and the cost has risen.

But not as high as U and also they don't get any short term and the long term is high

For '06, Employee & Family BCBS National PPO 100% coverage will be about $62.50 a week for medical and $2.55 a week for dental at U for mechanic and related, I'm not sure if it's different for the other work groups. For just employee and spouse I think it would be about $20.00 less per week for the medical.

Docker did you mean per week or per pay period: $62.50 /$2.55?

With the optional Life insurance, mine is 355.40/month for me and the family.

My families is $65 for the low option medical , and is going up to $125 a pay period in 06'. Nice of them to pass all the increases over to us.

Not sure which side, east or west, you're on but all the increases aren't passed to us. And I'm not defending the company but the sheet I got shows EVERYONE's is increasing.....the company's and ours.

I just wonder if maybe, we'll have more options when the 2 sides come together in 2007, if not sooner. Maybe it will be less expensive for all since our employee count will be higher...........better rates. Sure hope so.

Im on the west and the sheet I got said that the company pays allmost $1000 dollars a month for my families health insurance. Quick math lets say 60% of employees have family healthcare, 14000 x 60% x ( $1000 x 12) = $100,800,000.00 company cost on west side just for medical insurance? With fuel, salaries, Aircraft lease, ...the list goes on. For a company with under $2 billion in revenue, this seems like BS. Hard to say when the actual numbers have been requested and they have refused to give proof of actual costs.

I'm on the west also and non union. I've heard that there are differences in employee costs between union and non union. My sheet says with UHC Choice Plus Low, my cost $60.07 per month and company cost is $770.19 per month. That is the 2006 sheet and family coverage.

Who was asked and who did the asking about the actual cost that the company pays?
