CWA blasts outsourcing

US Airways stated on Feb. 14 that it delayed by one month the filing of the plan. But yesterday, spokesman David Castelveter said the airline would "not tie ourselves to when we'll have a plan." He also said the airline might ask the court to extend past March 31 the time it -- and not creditors -- has exclusive right to present a reorganization plan.

"I think we're doing a great job in a very competitive environment," said CEO Bruce Lakefield, after updating pilots on the airline's reorganization plans yesterday in Coraopolis.

I have kept quiet on the outsouring issue but will now put my 2 cents worth. On the short term outsourcing will save the company money but in the long term IMO it will cost the company money with the loss of revenue due to the backlash of american jobs being shipped overseas. Those so called fellow agents who have gone down to Central America are nothing but turncoats IMO. The one thing that I have a problem understanding is that the company is given the CS group every reason to leave but has not given anyone a reason to stay. Seems to be something very very wrong with that logic. It is hard to see so many talented and excellent agents who IMO are assets to the company leaving even before the buyout take place and once the buyout takes effect many more will also leave to pursue other careers. For those that are leaving or that are going to leave I say THANK YOU for a job well done and best wishes on your future endevours. At least you will more than likely find a job with an employer that will appreciate what you bring to the table and treat you as an asset instead of a liability. At least you will be away from the lies and deception this company has done over the years and continues to do so. The ones that I have talked to have stated and I agree....there will be no change in attitude between CCY and labor. Have heard this from Seth all the way to Bruce about how we need to bring labor and management together. Have bought apples at this cart many times and has been rotten to the core with every bite.
