I have blended together, edited for length, and subtitled the JFK tower, NY Departure, and JFK Ground control frequency recordings to show the great work of the pilots (sounded so calm!) and the controllers: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdHfYONgOAA
Thank you for posting that.
It shows that we have (in the USA) the safest, most efficient National Airspace System (NAS) in the world. That is thanks to the dedicated, hard working employees of the airlines, the FAA, and airport operations.
Kudos to all who deal with this kind of thing with professionalism on a daily basis. It is easy for us (me) to forget that.
I would agree with that.

Bird strikes are pretty much a daily occurrence at JFK... damn environmentalists think it is far better to bang up a couple multi-million dollar airplanes and risk human lives instead of spending a couple bucks on bird shot...
