No. You are not wrong. He was nominated again. Elections for the MEC positions are not voted upon by the general membership. As I stated earlier, the position of MEC chairman and ALPA president are totally different. This election has nothing to do with my statement that he will most likely become the next ALPA president. Artiefufkin's post erroneously concluded that my statement about Malone was somehow connected to him not being re-elected as the DL MEC chairman.

Are you a pilot for DL? I have encountered quite the opposite. There has been near unanimous support for him from the rank and file.
BTW, the DFW episode really has nothing to do with Malone and everything with to do with the company. How do you deduce that he is "in trouble"?

It will be interesting to see what ALPA and the DL Pilots do. The pilots had some kind of clause placed in the last round of concessions. The clause prohibits DL to come and ask again unless the money on hand reaches a certain point. I am sure a DL Pilot can give us the details.

You are correct, and that level has been reached according to the company. IMO, it is highly unlikely any negotiations will take place prior to any BK proceedings.

Raizin_Cain ... First of all do you work for Delta? Do you work in aviation period? Are you over 18 years old?

Secondly, DL is going to 'take' again, across the board, only it will depend on when DL files Chapter 11. See our CEO has preached that there will be 'no more employee' concessions. If that is true then (1) why is DL going back to ALPA wanting more $$ from the pilots & (2) when the bankruptcy judge says 10-20% across the board it won't be DL taking it, it will be a bankruptcy judge. Makes management look good in the eyes of the employees.

Finally, I put zero faith in anything that is posted on Yahoo Message Boards.. Thought it would make an interesting discussion point in here..

Oh yeah, add in Oil approaching $70 BL .. Pension payments along with interest payments on BILLIONS of debt ...

OK smart guy.. Let's see if you even pay attention to what is going on in aviation. Let's get your thoughts on record..

(1) Are there going to be more pay cuts at DL?
(2) Is DL going to file bankruptcy?
(3) Where do you see DL is 6 months?
