Actually a sell out in my opinion. CWA got the small stations and the CAR positions for more dues and the CWA senior members got sold out. As I watch the arbitration being played out with the ramp it will interesting to see how much the CWA gave up. If there is merger or buyout of DL the CWA better hope no other union throws in their hat.

Umm, actually they were represented by the IBT beforehand. The CWA actually gave up a key grievance that I have heard is 99% winnable just so the CWA can be CWA/IBT. To this point I'm not sure a convincing argument can be made for a delta worker to want any part of paying $50 dues/month to an organization that hasn't done squat. And let's not use that 'iron clad' job protection stuff because the CWA has probably lost more US AIRWAYS [east] members than it currently represents.

regards,

Let take this in a different direction. Delta agents better wake up and realize that Doug Parker has offered to honor the best payscale if this merger happens.

If Delta comes up with a better package and goes back to it's creditors, what kind of pay cuts will it call for?

Represented by the IBT with out a first contract that would take years to negotiate. America West agents get a $5.00 an hour increase among other things

You are pretty much right on less not forget the America West agents getting a on the spot first contract without negotiating for years.CWA/IBT leadership were scared of the lack of solitary and the inexperienced of the junior union work force going up against the world largest and experience union buster in the world
