First let me say I have no ill will towards the entire DL popluation sans one very vocal and idiotic employee- World Travler.

For the rest of the DL family good luck and best wishes. For WT I hope you had something to do with this so perhaps you will be getting the big heave ho for a christmas present.

My goodness, this sounds bad. Is the Michele Burns mentioned the same woman who had filed suit against Delta for cancelling her "life time First Class Positive Space" passes?

I can't find the article about the suit.

Best of luck and prayers for all the Delta employees.

Hmmmmm....sounds like the fox has been guarding the hen house! I really hate to see this happening to the fine folk at DELTA, I have several friends there.

Stupid comments like this prove how low of a creature you are. I fly DL, don't run it, and will not defend an action like this. It sure doesn't look right but I don't think we've heard both sides of the story yet. Even Judge Prudence requires that before rushing to judgment.

WT you have tossed some hate around the boards in regards to my airline. The airline I fly for, support and think is a darned good company with its warts and all. You and your rants about my company and the tireless pimping of DL have gotten old pal. You have earned every bit of the anti-wt post that come along.

I will also be here posting the information to assure you get a chance to see what hypocrite you really are. Posting the news sent North by Northwest into asylum perhaps you will choose the same.

Again, to all the DL people. Good luck and thanks for all the great service you have given me and my family over the years. You guys have always been a first class operation.

magsau,
You are severely checked out of reality if you think that posting a statement that I had anything to do w/ supposedly misappropriation of DL retirement and disability funds is appropriate. I have criticized UA and many other airline (including DL) for its business decisions and will continue to do so if that is appropriate but I do not and have not accused anyone of theft or unethical behavior. If you cannot understand the difference between the two, then you are severely to be pitied.

> I too wish DL employees well in all of this.

Thanks for all the good wishes. IF our pilots grow up, we might have a chance. Don't know how much of one, but a chance.

AS for the misappropriation of funds, this sounds a little familiar, and we did pick up a few execs from PanAm's board a few years back.

I'm thinking you'd be better served to worry about yourself. after you've taken a 50% paycut, you can throw stones. In the meantime, I'm sure you have no worries, those Embry Ridiculous Degrees are in high demand... 🙄

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

MMB,

Could you elaborate for us here, on your "BRAIN FART"..........."IF OUR PILOTS GROW UP" ?????????????????

Thank you

This freaking airline is SO TOAST!! It's about time, I must say. There are too many carriers flying anyway. Time to reduce capacity and up the fares so we can all make more money. 😛 😛 😛 😛

Let's see now - who has failed to keep their airplanes on the airport property not once but twice in the past 5 years, now killing people and destroying aircraft? Hint - it ain't Delta. I'm sure many of us would agree that WN's capacity reduction strategy is working just fine.

And you do realize that WN would not have been profitable any quarter this year were it not for their fuel hedges?

Since you asked so nicely, I’d be glad to.

Delta is perched very precariously between chapter 11 and chapter 7. How this came to be has been discuss at length but is irrelevant at this point.

Depending on your point of view other factors fit in, but mostly because of Delta’s condition, as well as that of the industry over the past several years, most Delta employees have taken big losses in compensation. For some those losses have been drawn out and cumulative. Over the same period others have experienced an overall increase in compensation, but they are now being asked to pony up with the rest.

Across the spectrum of employees, some have decided for themselves that the level of compensation and the uncertainty of their position can no longer justify remaining with Delta Air Lines. Those people have either gone elsewhere or are preparing to. Others have decided that it is in their best interest to stick it out a little longer. I doubt you could find a department that doesn’t have examples of both of these positions.

However, as a group, Delta pilots have *chosen* to publicly shout their displeasure with what is being asked of them. They have also publicly express willingness, if not a desire, to be the last straw that pushes the company into chapter 7. This with total disregard for the effect it has on the choices of potential customers that Delta desperately needs, or for the other 48,000 employees who still rely on Delta for their livelihood. Both of these appear to me to be the acts of a three-year-old throwing a temper tantrum. Although, now that I’ve taken the time to reconsider at your request, I guess the strike part at this time could also be the act of a thug.

I do. And my family. And their future.

After five promotions, I am currently working for roughly what I made in 1986. Inflation corrected it works out to about what I made in 1981. And you?

Thank you for proving my point.

I probably would be if I were flying. But I looked at the pay scale and saw I could do much better. Maybe you should do the same, then you won't have to spend all your time blaming someone else for your problems.

WT,

You really should not get into a tombstone debate. While I am no fan of WN or WNlifesentence it is truly inappropriate. Your beloved does not have the stellar record one would want to enjoy. Once Letterman has a top 10 list on WN then you can spout.
