I found this thread on airliners.net. Scroll down to reply 10 and you can see some pictures of it, courtesy of crjflyer35. It's one of the few ones that Mesa operates for US but judging by the registration, it looks like it used to a Piedmont bird.

I think that is the best looking plane in the new colors.

Now to see what the DH6 Twin Otters will look like in the new colors.

At least this is a hint that US Airways/Piedmont may keep the dash-8 for the time being.

You're kidding right? Did you ever take a basic art/design class in college? This thing looks terrible.

I am refering to the new paint scheme, of all the planes they have done, the best on is the DH8's.

If I designed it, the plane would be all white. The way the Blue and red cheatline wrap around the bottom is nasty, if they HAD to have that, they should have continued it straight in the front. I say paint all the planes in the PSA colors. That's my favorite.

Does this not scare anybody else but me?
Mesa getting more US Airways flying is not good for this company. I know that Delta has cut Dash 8 flying in JFK and this is most likely where the airplanes are coming from.
Mesa having more of a presence in US Airways is bad for everyone. From Customers to Employees. They only people that might benefit from it is D.P. and his cronies.

Another step backwards.

That Dash-8 may not represent new flying, although it could. I believe that Mesa has been doing Dash-8 flying for HP out west for some time, so assume that this is just one of those planes in the new livery.

agreed. the "new" livery communicates incongruence, both visually and perceptively. such a permanent disappointment.
the "new" theme music, however, is quite good! too bad it is buried underneath all those advertisements on the level off video.
just trying to find the positive...

I agree. The livery is a permanent eyesore that reflects cluelessness- diagonal lines going through a horizontal symbol... it actually perfectly captures the whole "done cheaply by amatuers" spirit of the thing now, so maybe its on purpose.

The music has grown on me though and I realy like it!

Jim is correct as usual.

There is no increase in Mesa flying. Mesa has, for years, operated a small fleet of DH8s (6, I believe) on behalf of HP to fly to the ski resort cities in CO plus a few small cities in CA and Mexico. Infact, Mesa will be reducing its flying since it is removing 5 CRJ-200s from its US operation this year, though all those are based out in PHX.

It couldn't have come from Delta ops out of JFK. Those Freedom Air (Mesa) guys only fly DHC-8-100's, and the aircraft shown is a -200 model....formerly Piedmont's.

Frickin' unbelieveble though that Piedmont gave up their "too expensive" and newer -200 models to Mesa! And now they have the new paint too, while PDT still flies around sh*t looking -100's? The Piedmont ship is sinking so, so fast.

This is why I posted that I believe this paint job is a hint that Piedmont may keep dash-8 flying, at least, a few more years. The aircraft shown in the picture is 9877HA, as I now understand, a former Henson Aviation/Piedmont dash-8.

Okay, you've missed the point entirely.

1. It used to be a Piedmont plane.
2. It is a -200.
3. Piedmont returned all of the -200s, as they were too expensive.
4. Mesa is widely regarded as a dirtbag operation; inherently abusive to employees, extremely cheap, etc.
5. Not one single Piedmont plane is in the new livery, nor are PSA's RJs.
6. The dirtbag operator can not only acquire one of our too-expensive planes, but can freaking PAINT it.

Now where is the hope for Piedmont?

Piedmont returned the 200 because the lease was up and HDQ that is Usairways group did not want to extend or renew the leases since the own the 100.
There is a rumour that they may actually get the Q's
