Direct flight between SFO and Guangzhou

I saw US was planning on direct flight between SFO and Guangzhou (CAN), however it was delayed due to the economic free fall. Any insight when this route will be revived? I'm planning a trip to southern China later this year, and this seems to a prefect route.
