When I read the press release about the downsizing of CVG, I checked the ISP schedule and discovered that by the end of September ISP-CVG is gone. That is about a 50 percent reduction in service for DL from ISP.

I guess they are giving up on ISP as well....

Shame.

ART,
My guess, "It's nothing personal".

Like you, I know VERY well the $$ business that can/is generated from Islip.

But DL's locked into survival mode now, so everything will be ATL,ATL,ATL.

NHBB,

I don't take it personally at all. I haven't flown DL since 2001. It is just a sad statement of another retrenchment or withdrawal from ISP.

Everyone's afraid to go head to head with Greyhound Air.

If DL goes, it just leaves US as the ONLY other carrier at the airport.

I hate driving to LGA......

These are the non-stops being eliminated from CVG: Moline, Ill.; Mobile and Montgomery, Ala.; Islip, N.Y.; Baton Rouge, La.; and Fort Walton Beach, Pensacola, Tallahassee and Daytona Beach, Fla.

Yep, it's sad that ISP has become almost a one-airline airport. The good news is that one airline is thriving there continues to expand.
