Bless your heart,
Keep up the daily affirmations - Hail to DL, Hail to DL, Hail to DL
So let me get this is AA does that on some of it's TATL is that OK - or a sign of weaknesses?
Do you ever max out your prescription drug coverage?
forgive me for being blunt but are you really this dense in real life?
honestly, I have only said about 16,000 times that it is GOOD that AA is finally cutting capacity and not throwing capacity into markets where it isn't warranted.
in fact, after MAH and others have touted all of the growth that AA is doing to Europe, I verified that is a fact that AA is actually cutting its schedule this winter deeper than it has done before - both for PMAA and PMUS networks.
I didn't condemn them but instead have noted that Parker is turning AA's TATL network into one that is far more seasonal than what PMAA did - and a whole lot more like what US did. DL's TATL network - the most profitable of the US carriers - has a difference of 65% between summer and winter capacity.
All DL is doing with SEA-HND is adding seasonality to a route that is part of a route award but yet in the DOT's orders is not required to be served on a daily basis.
The DOT requirements do not prohibit operating a route under an award with seasonality.
AA is finding that its network needs to be a whole lot more seasonal that it is right now.
DL is doing with SEA-HND what it has done with its European network - and doing it compeltely within what the DOT required in the route award.
If AA wants to fly to HND so badly, why did they give up their JFK to HND route? I was really surprised they didn't keep until at least after the merger to see if it might work then.
exactly.
the problem with AA's request is that not once but twice they argued that their HND route should be transferred to LAX, the only US city that already has two HND routes - one by DL and the other by NH. and they are now trying yet a third time to make the same argument.
If AA could figure out how to make the route work someplace on their network, they not only would have been able to transfer the JFK-HND route to another city but very well could win a challenge in DL's SEA-HND case - if DL ever does not meet the DOT requirements for level of service.
But AA keeps trying to add the same route that is already served while failing to come up with any creative answer beyond what they proposed years ago.

so, no, what AA is doing with Europe by reducing winter capacity is completely different from what they are doing on the Pacific.
