I think this is a great thing, once the Unions have settled in. The possibilities are fantastic!

Our situation is greatly different in that pound for pound this is a merger of equals, with both bringing prized route structures to the table. In spite of the management (too bad we don't have Cont. skilled management).

The ONLY thing that I see that could derail this merger is a long drawn out management/ Unionization battle and you can bank on this being a battle royal. There will be bitter in fighting for decades over this if management wins in destroying the unions.

And we just have to get over that one little lawsuit in Federal court on the 5th (which could derail the merger).

There was some REAL STRONG possibility of the merger being STOPPED! You and I both know that NW settles NOTHING with out a fight if they think there is an inkling of the opposition losing. I am sure the lawyers at Delta are just as swift.

Settlement = this lawsuit could have put the kabosh on this merger plain and simple.
