DOJ approves DL/NW

err okay.....since the term "scab" is a highly derogatory "fighting word" that refers to people who continue to work during strike action by trade unionists (according to wiki).

WTH are you talking about? :blink:

I'm just guessing . . .

NW employed mechanics who crossed the AMFA picket line. Any of them still working at NW? Ergo - ScabAir. Merger with Delta means that the ugly attribute will follow along to the combined entity. It just got a whole lot larger.

I couldn't agree more!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kev,
(Forgive me for telling you something you already know),....BUT....effective YESTERDAY,.....The IAM NEEDS to have a Confirmed LIST of EVERY .."Regular"...(Not DGL or DLG...whatever they call them), "below the wing" FSC that DL has.
Once thats determined, I think with DTW/MSP/MEM, that you guys significantly "outnumber"....DL's numbers.....which will equate to a Unionized Ramp.
BTW,
DL BOS wants to let the BOS/NW guys handle their AF, which is currently handled by DGL.
B U T ..you KNOW, that given the first oppertunity, that DL would re-introduce DGL to that operation.
GET those NUMBERS........GET them CONFIRMED,....and GET them very QUICKLY !!
I take it your NOT refering to the same kind of "UNION" protection your mechanics had ! :shock:
You, of course, are an idiot.
We (The Honorable NWA AMT's) had a choice, and made it. You will cower to whatever the bosses demand, because "at least you have a job" :lol:
Hey look! Four responses in, and already a "if-you-don't-like-it-quit" comment. Awesome! 🙄
Please explain how losing sick/oji accruals, 2 weeks of vacation annually, and large increase in medical premiums will constitute a "raise."
Extra credit: My job classification doesn't exist at DL, so I'll be losing a $1.25/hr. override. Explain how that's a "raise."
Make sure to show your work.
Thanks.
From what I'm hearing, The NEW airline will be giving employess the best of both airlines. In other words, NW employees pay will rise to Delta's, Delta employees sick time will increase to NW current standards and so on and so forth concerning pay and other benefits! :shock:
I know it's hard to believe this will happen , being the pessimistic type that you are, but how 'bout giving it a week or two before you jump off a cliff ! :blink:
I see..like the last raise you got vs. the pilots?
Or is it like the last raise the Delta payroll dept. got? That "just wait and see" sure worked well...FOR JAMAICA!
I feel sorry for you. You are like an innocent child about to walk into the woods full of wolves. You are nothing but ideal prey for your NW bosses.
You really need to switch the a in your name with the o, then get rid of the a all together. :lol:
You are correct. The wages will come up and the sick/vac accruals will mirror what we have now at NWA. Not because Rich wants to do it for "his family", but because he doesn't have a choice in the matter. If he fails to give back to the employees that he stole from in the first place, this whole merger is going to get messier than it already looks to be. In addition, the unions have their foot in the door at my new airline and we will be sure to fight for any and all benifits that are do to us. You bet your a** I'm going to retain what I have with my NWA contract and build upon it, plus get it all in writing. In solidarity, your union brother
It will be all right, but not without us having our voices heard.
Then what you're hearing is absolute BS. Show me where you read this in print.
Your own people put out a memo saying that if the representational elections do not result in certification, then DL's policies/procedures will prevail.
Who's jumping off a cliff? What I posted is absolute fact.
Having you for once answer a question with facts instead of the usual juvenile attempts to discredit me sure would be a nice change.
It does? Hmm strange since it is a french name, as pronounced doesnt sound anything like that. :blink:
Da---po--es! The po' est!
On another note:
"Though Delta has pledged not to lay off any front-line employees as a result of the merger, it expects to cut as many as 1,000 employees, including at Delta’s headquarters in Atlanta and Northwest’s headquarters in Eagan, Minn.
“You’re not going to see any significant reduction in jobs or headcount here in Atlanta, frankly, because we have a lot of work to do over the next two years as we integrate the two companies,†Bastian said. “Eventually, you’ll see some reductions across the two companies, but it’s pretty far down the road, and I would expect we’re going to manage it through attrition and other types of early-out arrangements. I would not expect any large-scale layoffs at all.â€
I don't understand your hostility. It would be hard if DAL was taken over. If you put your guard down, you may find that DAL is not that bad. Nobody will get stapled to the bottom. I went through the Western merger and came out well, as far as seniority. Give it a chance. This can be a kick a-- airline if we leave the crap behind. Think about it.
You have to forgive the NW employees for being hostile..The reason they are especially ones who have atleast 1990 seniority know how this management group operates. Your top dog at DL now was the former CEO of NWA along with some of the new henchman that made their way over to DL before the merger. This top management team has screwed over the employees and the taxpayers of Minnasota ever since they arrived starting with the 1993 concessions and it just got worse over time. They have NEVER honored any promises they have made to anyone in the whole time I was employed with them. They are as evil a bunch as I have ever witnessed. I am so glad to be away from it.. I am still bitter because of they way the did me and the other mechanics but I am SOOO glad to be where I am now. I don't think I could sleep at night if I was still there. I just hope you DL people don't see how the REAL NW management team operates..If the leopard keeps it's spots (which it usually does) you people are in for a hell of a ride and it will be BUMPY.
There are still a bunch of the strike breakers employed. I don't know the exact number but I recall seeing the senority list awhile back and the vast majority of the AMTs had 2005 hire dates. Most are employeed at either MSP or DTW. I think all the other mtc stations are staffed by contract companies like Swissport.
sometimes being outspoken about what is on someones mind can be interpreted as something else..sometimes the truth hurts though. sometimes people fail to accept reality. sometimes people do not listen fully. If a person A, with all their bluntness for whatever reason, tells some other person B how reality really works and looks like and what that person has just experienced, is that person A having a hostile attitude? personally I do not think so, although A can and should think twice about how B may interpret, however that doesnt make the truth less true! however, it is sometimes hard to be outspoken and not be seen as an arrogant, even though that person may be right. I think thats life, and I am comfortable with that, however when I do my best to not to be blunt or impolite does not mean that someone else may see it the same way, it is hard to face conclusions like "being hostile". Id like to know where these conclusions come from, because the majority of the people I have encountered are professional (they just know what they are talking about)
You are correct..Anyone with 2005 or higher sen date in a mechanic posirion is a SCAB..We also had original NW guys who crossed and scabbed also..They are all on the scab list. There are a few guys who were honorable who were recalled back. But it was not many.. Most all are scabs and are working in both MSP and DTW.
