I've been so worried about the poor man and his future. (NOT! 😛 )

A quote from the article, "I don't know. I'm kind of running out of airline time. I've done a lot of airlines over my time, and I've been involved with Canadian Airlines, TWA, Porter – I've probably been chairman of more airlines than anyone in the history of aviation. "

Other than AA, how many have survived his service?

How long until the outdated Dell computers go up for sale to Virgin employees?

This is hardly news -- Carty's been chairman of Virgin America for almost five years. And they're actually doing better than a lot of people (including me) ever expected.

Porter seems to be doing well.

Yes, and Air Canada thought they could ignore them. Now they're having to actually compete with them *and* Westjet...

Hawaiian is also doing pretty well.

Some of y'all like to think Carty's an incompetent boob. He may be aloof at times, and out of touch with economic reality for front line employees, but he's still a pretty intelligent guy.

Intelligence and common sense are rarely seen in the same package.

Let's see here - he got how many years credited to his retirement package and all he had to do was APPEAR to fall on his sword to appease the rabble?

How many of the out-of-date old stock computers did he sell for Dell?

That was some of the best drama around for a while, along with the promised revote that never happened and the "steps of the courthouse" routine after the FAs "accidently on purpose" screwed up their contract vote.

Does anyone claim rights to this comedy of errors or could I try to sell it as such to Hollywood as slapstick? You know - a "3000 Stooges" or something like that?

Intelligence is a prerequisite for being a good con man.
