'Duck Dynasty' Dad Suspended Following Anti-Gay Remarks

Where exactly is the censorship? Both were allowed to say what they felt. Nobody was silenced.Experiencing the consequences of voicing your opinion is not censorship.
Just parroting the BS spouted by the right when Roberts was called out.

By the way. How is that conservatives defend the rights of things they might find vile BS Coming along?

The issue here isn't free speech.
It's tolerance and hypocrisy.
Conservatives regularly defend the rights of others to say things even if they find it offensive and vile.
Liberals regularly label opposing viewpoints as hate speech and demand action be taken to silence whatever they find offensive.
A&E knew the Robertsons were deeply religious, and have cashed in on that. Why they chose to react as they did is boggling, and they'll take a hit for it one way or another.

Loosely paraphrased....

"We live in a world that has walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with guns.

Who's gonna do it? You? You, Ms. Tree?

I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for liberalism and you curse the real patriots. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know, that liberalism's death, while tragic, will save lives. And patriots' existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives!

You don't want the truth, because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want us on that wall. You need us on that wall. We use words like "honor", "code", "loyalty".

We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom that real patriots provide, and then questions the manner in which it is provided."

Bravo. Bravo. I almost worked up a tear. I bet you masterbate white and blue don't you. I must admit you are far more elegant at dodging inconvenient questions than most around here. This last one sounded like it came straight out of a John Wayne movie.

Now explain to me how conservatives stand up for beliefs that they find vile.

I never said conservatives stand up for beliefs they find vile.

What I said is "Conservatives regularly defend the rights of others to say things even if they find it offensive and vile."

Translated into fifth grade terms, conservatives will stand up for the right for you to express yourself, even if it means you make a fool out of yourself by doing so.

You certainly didn't see conservatives shutting down the Occupy Wall Street encampments, or out lobbying to have MSNBC outlawed.

Yet, you do have this: http://www.infowars.com/liberal-coalition-demands-fcc-move-to-shut-down-talk-radio/

And this: http://www.newrepublic.com/article/114945/two-russians-walk-parliamentary-crisis

Yep, the New Republic actually published a thinly veiled suggestion that Obama use the military to quash dissent in Congress (i.e. the Tea Party movement).

Even with that, did you see Conservatives looking to shut down the New Republic for hate speech?...

I know, that's probably all too inconvenient for you to respond to, Tree, and you'll come back with some smug, elitist, kumbayah response.

But, at the end of your next rant, the fact will still remain that you don't see Conservatives trying to silence those who disagree with them, despite the other fact that there's no shortage of examples where liberals have tried to do so to those who have opposing views and beliefs.

Same difference and no they do not stand up for or defend rights they do not agree with much less find vile.

You act as though they had the ability to shut down occupy.

Ooooo hhhhh an article that suggests something.  Do you think I can find something similar suggested by such great conservative thinkers as Coulter, Limbaugh or O'Reilly?

Lets start with the American Family Association, move on to Million Moms, after that you can look up the Family Research Council.  That's just a few that came to mind.  There are many more if you care to look them up but I'm going to guess you don't.

You really think your chit does not stink don't you.

I've always thought their avatar was a wry commentary on contemporary American society...

Kev,

Now you know that you are not supposed to use big, complex, convoluted words.
Please stick with the Koch approved fauxnewspeak dictionary currently in use, or we will have to call the thought police on you.
