AA requested that the slots be retired, a request which was promptly denied. Nobody requested the slots, but it was bound to happen after the retirement request was rejected. They are still looking to use more of the slots for more mainline flights, so we'll see in the next 1-2 weeks what happens with that.

In the end expect they will only give up 10-12 slots, as opposed to the 45+ originally given up.
