Early out for M & R Sept. 4-Sept 25

Yeah, they have been pretty clear on that and as to why. Are you saying that is something bad ?
No it is not bad. Many of those that are taking the Early Out are unhappy that they may not get to go day one. Also it is my understanding that upon resignation, that most states will not allow unemployment.

A couple of the people I know that are taking it want out right way but most want out at different times because of because vacation accrual I think is what they said. New York is the only state so far I have heard that had a problem with filing for unemployment. Texas and Oklahoma were good to go so I have been told.

This is a no brainier your volunteering to leave the company why would expect to get unemPloyement also? Seems you want your cake and eat it also! I've also heard some guys say well I'm not getting my prefunding right away so I'm not leaving now. These are just excuses if I was 55 and over I would leave in a heartbeat there is no future here.

901 FA's so far.

Are we going to know before the 30th how many slots will be available for each release period for each station? Will we know on the 26th which people took the early out? I understand it will be a bid process based on OCC seniority for which month you want to leave in.

Someone should go to the TWU 514 "Early Out Wrokshop" meetings on 9/13/2012 and video the participants.

We will have a video of those tha voted to place the final nail in the profession coffin. Having a video of the Local Union that advocated it along with a video of who voted yes to do this would be worthwhile.

Could be a great documentary video to have of such a significant union man sellout video on file.
Right there with the SCABS of Northwest Airlines.

I voted NO but will be taking the early out. While I won't be at the meeting I'm sure there will some in attendance who voted NO as well. There are better companies to work for and there will be no better time for us to take out talent elsewhere. BTW, I hope to soon be paying dues to the union I had wished for many years would be representing us at AA.

My apologies Birdman for the pigeon hole comments. I keep forgetting that some are just fed up and did not vote yes.

Congrats on leaving AA.
You must be going to work for Southwest and hoping for AMFA representation? Good luck to you

Be sure we visit face to face before you leave us, I will buy lunch.

Yes, I'm hoping to secure employment with an airline that values skill and hard work and thanks for the gesture of good fortune.

I will make a point to personally thank you face to face for the many years of sacrifice you have made in support of improving our profession's and would consider it an honor to buy you lunch.

Americans big mistake was buying toxic assets that were doomed... Would of been more feasible to just let them die on the vine...

New York is the only state so far I have heard that had a problem with filing for unemployment. Texas and Oklahoma were good to go so I have been told.

I used to work for the Texas Employment Commission, now called the Texas Workforce Commission. The Federal law which defines unemployment rules in every state is quite clear. You are eligible for unemployment insurance payments only if you lost your job through no fault of your own. In most cases if you choose to leave, you are ineligible for UI.

However, there are exceptions--if you can prove that you were forced to resign (as opposed to being fired or laid off), or, you were being subjected to such things as sexual harassment, you are still eligible for UI. And, regardless of the circumstances, if you are denied unemployment, you can appeal that decision.

Be aware that the state employment services that administer unemployment insurance are state agencies in name and employee salary level only. Almost everything they do comes under Federal law controlled by the U.S. Dept. of Labor.
