F/A Contract

...We have enough aircraft just waiting in the desert to be reinstated to take up the slack.
Those aircraft are not sitting in the desert waiting to take up the slack. They are there as spares that can be put into service relatively quickly for when you guys burn one to the ground. 😉

Hackman: What’s wrong widdit?

Local 12: Duh, I dunno. Number one vibs are off the scale.

Hackman: Gin’er up, I’ll take a look.

Local 12: Powers at 100%!!!

Hackman: Take’r to ahunered-n-twenty, I can almoost see da problem.

Poor Engine: BOOM!!!!!

Hackman: I FOUND IT!!!! I FOUND IT!!!! I FOUND THE PROBLEM!!!! Check the galley for some marshmallows and wieners we got ourselves a bonfire.

Local 12: Damn Hackman were gonna get fired. Ain’t no way in hell da TWU is gonna get our arses outta dis one.

Hackman: AAAAWW Local, it ain’t no big deal. We got plenty more of dees in da desert. Besides Ken will make us look like heroes for blowing it up. He’ll talk his union papaganda and say there was no other way to find the problem it had to be blowd up for safties sake. Hell Local, were reeal boniefied heroes just like in da cartoooons.

Local 12: HEE HEE HEE HAW HAW HAW. I didnt tink about dat Hackman. Howd you get to be so darned smart? I bet you can see dat baby burn for miles away, were gonna be famous too.

1. Contract will be thrown out
2. Followed by Strike
3. Replacement F/A group - overnight
4. Cost savings goal achieved
I have a feeling you are dead on with this one whaledriver. NWA is way to far into the game to drop the ball now.

I seriously doubt that SCAB AIR has even one SCAB F/As waiting to replace the PROS. You simply cannot replace F/As as easily as SCAB AIR did with their PROFESSIONAL MECHANICS last AUG. The reason is simple. F/As have to know just about everything but flying the plane
and be able to assist in the "normal even of a planned emergency landing" that regularoly occurs at Scab Air

AA will not merge with NW. I do see them outbidding the rest for those coveted NRT routes and other asian assets. The cultures at both airlines would be a nightmare. The only benefit would be that AA can finally get rid of those crappy fuel hogs that they have flying all over.

Oh Jim, how I've missed your well written, factual posts!

How's everything going at Shady Acres? Have your Grandkids been by lately to play cribbage with you? No? Well, I'm sure they're just busy; don't worry, they'll be by soon enough!

Talk to you later!

😎 *shhhhhhhhhhh...* be very quiet. Right now he's planning his flight to the moon............

Wow!!! We just had a meeting this morning with upper management and this was brought up. They expected the F/A Contract to pass and the Ramp Contract to be a no-go. They acted as if this were in the bag at 0600.

Well I'd like the upper management to see how it's like to:

have 8 days of trips

6 legs a day (with 3 hr sits here and there)

with mininum rest where the hotels are 45 minutes away from the airport

serve meals on every leg, and drinks

and do some illegals here and there

at least pick up 1 used sanitary napkin that "slipped out" from someone's nasty cheese crusted panties

wipe up at least 1 projectile vomit

and unclog one sink that has "chunks" in it during the flight where someone puked.

Top that off with 1 FAA inspector doing a cabin crew check ride

and 1 FAM check ride

and at least 1 freak who thinks his pet dog is his baby and tries to nurse it in the toilet during the flight.

I'm all for cross training.....

I'm sure they got something up their sleeves. The way the work rules are currently, it's not worth it. I predict a definate high turn over rate- even perhaps within a month of this kind of scheduel with short layovers.

Same here...By the way, I would have paid good money to see Suzanne Boda's face this afternoon. Wonder if she now regrets sending out her "love note" to all of you guys?
I think she's a good candidate for checking in a full 747 by herself under an hr and do the announcements .... Don't forget the VISA EXPIRATION!

P.S. 😛h34r: Flight attendant scabs.... the one I was talking to in the open house didn't know anything about the doors. "Fully Trained"... good luck.

Funny that PTO should be talking about engine maintenance, how long did that engine change take again???

No matter, NWA with their "flawless" maintenance plan has A-G-A-I-N asked UAL to do their engine work. Now check this out, they (NWA) wanted a 10 year contract worth just about 1 BILLION dollars for UAL to do NWAs PW2000 work.

Sorry NWA, the term is "Struck Work" the answer A-G-A-I-N is "NO"

My heart goes out to all NWA F/A's. However, let's place the 'evil nwa management' (which is true) rhetoric on hold and explore the reality of this decision.

It is all part of the NWA master plan. Mgt wants the F/A's to 'strike', as replacements are already on standby. After seeing what they have done to highly skilled and educated aircraft mechanics...don't think for a minute that they can't replace the F/A group. It will be a combo of young and eager new hires to work domestic flights and foreign replacements for International flights. Unfortunately, NWA is setting the new stage as we speak.

 Can you say "SLIDE DEPLOYMENT"? I just love that confused "OH SHET" look. I have only seen two deploy but I am sure all the dumbfounded looks are the same.

I think PTO said it took 2 months!!!!

Well at least UAL has a contract that spells out the word NO and I have to wonder what part of NO SCAB AIR doesnt understand-- the N or the O or both?

We had that happen over here at UAL, except the lady stayed in her seat and nursed her cat. I kid you not. I think we all needed therapy after seeing that one.

And your prediction for when the ramp votes down their contract for a second time?

This ought to be good!
