F/A Contract

Well, this is gonna delay the AA takeover of NW. B)

The plan all along was for AMR to pounce as soon as all NW labor groups ratified their concessions. The scab mechanics could be kicked to the curb, and the AA professional AMTs would handle maintenance for the combined airline.

This news will definitely throw a wrench in that plan.

And I guess APFA would staple the NW f/a's.

 Can you say "SLIDE DEPLOYMENT"? I just love that confused "OH SHET" look. I have only seen two deploy but I am sure all the dumbfounded looks are the same.
 Hey....don't be laughing about your future fellow flight attendant scabs..... you guys are suppose to support each other, remember?

hey jenny, I was just curious, how are the lonely scabs going to support themselves let alone each other if they wont have an airline to scab at when you Flight Attendants strike? Jus tbe sarcasticy here!

And your prediction for when the ramp votes down their contract for a second time?

This ought to be good!

I suppose so, and it started yesterday. We got a call to go fix a door that was jammed, it was a terminating bird that had been at the gate for a while so we ignored it. We received a second call so I headed down to A-99 to check it out. There stands about ten people just kind of hanging around and sure enough one jammed up door. I cleared the door jam then instructed the instructor that you have to rotate the handles completely to the open position and recess them before swinging the door to the full open and latched position. I have to wonder if she was setting-up the Scab F/A's she was training for failure.

how did the door get jammed on your 57? I know on US' 757, the gate agent has to open the door from the outside because the slide is automatically armed if the F/As open it.

Believe it.
Oh I believe it all right. My first few days here I could see that. I forget what the problem was but I asked one of the mangers about it. He replied, "I don't know I'm an engineer." Would John know? "No, He's an engineer as well. All he knows about is the IDG's." I thought, oh shet this is going to be hell.

Robbed, the outside door handles has to be fully rotated, recessed and latched into the open position before the door is swung open and latched in the open position. If the outside handle is only partially rotated the latch that holds the door in the open position will jam. The outside handle can also damage the fuselage if not recessed, you are going to lose some paint for sure.

The F/A's can open the door from the inside once the door is disarmed. They have simply forgotten to do so enough times that it has become standard practice for the Gate Agent to open the door.

Oh here we go again... why don't you make up something more believable next time? They wouldn't even dare use a real door to instruct F/A. <_<
