F/A Contract

Way to go flight attendants.

You've got them where you want them now.

Beat them down, don't give an inch.

Then they'll have to go out of business.

Then you will have WON!!!!!

Have fun pointing out the emergency exits at McDonalds.

Your ass-inine statements are the reason why the race to the bottom continues for labor...

You're Execs want to stick you at McDonald wages, Sparky. And the contribution to your medical and out of pocket expenses (if you can still afford it) will have you on the proverty line like many at U.

Some group has to stop this craziness of using labor costs to survive. Does NW have a viable business model to operate the airline and increase revenue? Has management taken the same % of cuts across the board? Is there "snap back" provisions tied to bonuses and profits once the co. emerges from bk? What other costs besides screwing the creditors and lessors in BK does NW have? So far, its the same playbook from USAirways. The jury is still out on the alleged merger synergy. Any success has a way of fading behind a backdrop of severe concessions.

Congratulations to the f/as for being unified in your effort to perserve the profession.

First of all, F/as do not make enough at ANY airline to 'shut the door". If NWA wants to shut it down, they will and it won't be because of the f/as. Most f/as not only have degrees, but many have multiple and advanced degrees. Multiple skill sets are a hiring requirement for f/as and they are recruited by many organizations because of their training. F/as easily assimilate into other professions and will not have a hard time becoming employed if that becomes necessary. Rest assured the 4000+ former TWA
f/as will offer any assistance necessary IF needed. With no help from AA or the APFA, we started our own financial resource foundation, resume project, and flight attendant support network.

Sometimes you have to vote your conscience and accept the consequences. Too many times f/as are looked at as easy targets, second incomes, and the "girls in the back. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Hard working professionals, brave enough to say "no", are the first thoughts that comes to mind.

The f/as at AA voted no to concessions and somehow (?-lol) the vote was extended one day, only new yes votes were allowed, and by a narrow margin the concessionary contract was passed. Keep voting until they get it "right" was the mantra. That vote is now the subject of a lawsuit.

Best of luck NW f/as. Your fellow class and craft salute you.

And your prediction for when the ramp votes down their contract for a second time?

This ought to be good!

'red tail bear'

Is this good enough for you???

ESSC Members Ratify Northwest Airlines Pact

After nine days of voting across the Northwest Airlines system, District 143 has certified that 62 percent of the voting Equipment Service & Stock Clerk (ESSC) membership have accepted the terms of the tentative agreement reached with the bankrupt airline on May 19, 2006.

This was a choice between bad and worse. The agreement contains substantial sacrifice, but it allows ESSC members to preserve their contract and decades of collective bargaining gains.

Sorry, my prediction remains the same...
