I was a kid when United started flying the 767-200 to Denver in 1982, and got to spend an hour or so in the cockpit between flights. I’ve had a “soft spot†for it ever since.
I like the 767-400, but I think it suffered from the same issue that the A350 is now running up against; the market wanted a brand-new design (e.g. the A330), not another derivative. It’s ironic how history is repeating itself with the 787 vs. A350, but this time the tables are turned.
757s are, well, 757s; airline Management and (I believe Pilots) love them, but I think they’re terrible for Economy-class passengers (First is nice in just about any airplane but, not being an employee or a frequent flyer, I don’t get to set there often). I have the same opinion about the 737.
Finally, everyone loves the 777, so why follow the crowd?
