NWA isn't my first job, either. It may suprise you to read that I actually work harder here than I did at 2 other non-union carriers.
The fact is, at NWA there's no fat left to cut. The lazy people you describe (and that person exists at every company/in every industry in the US) are taken care of very swiftly by those on their own crews, as no one can afford to have anyone else skate by.
Kev, that was a great post. I think that a lot of non union folks seriously believe that if you have a union you can just slack off and do not have any consequences. That is not the case at all. Like you said, even if anyone tried it, their co-workers would (should) put a stop to it.
